Abstract

In an applicator head, which may be formed for screw connection with a container for liquid or powder, a blind hole is extended into a rod 8 so that this may be broken off at its base to unseal the container. The head 3 may be of high impact polystyrene and the hole may be surrounded by a thickened boss having a peripheral lip 11 to prevent adhesive, used to secure cellular applicator pad 13, from reaching space 12. A polythene wing 17 is provided for gripping the end of the rod 8. Shoulder 18 and lip 11 may be omitted and the thickness of plate 16 may be gradually increased towards the centre. The container may have rigid or pliable walls and a cover cap 19 may be provided.
