Ganz besonderes Augenmerk ist dabei auf die Sicherheit der Patienten zu richten, da die oft geschwächten, verletzten oder anderweitig beeinträchtigten Patienten durch eigene Kraft nicht in eine stehende Position gelangen können. The backrest 6 and the armrests 5 are connected to the masts 4 via a vertical support strut 10 and a horizontal support strut 11. The backrest 6 is preferably motor-adjustable in height relative to the mast 4. Die Rolle 103 ist vorzugsweise unter dem Schwerpunkt der von den Armstützen 5, der Rückenlehne 6 und dem Tragarm 101 gebildeten Einheit angebracht, so dass bei Belastung der Armstützen 5 und der Rückenlehne 6 durch einen Patienten mit durchschnittlichem Gewicht kein seitliches Drehmoment auf den Masten 4 ein- wirkt. An der Vorderseite der Armstützen 5 ist jeweils ein vorzugsweise abschwenkbares oder wegklappbares Tablett 105 zur Ablage einer Hand des Patienten vorgesehen. Auf jedem der Tabletts 105 ist vorzugsweise ein von einer Hand umgreifbarer Stab 106 angebracht, der beispielsweise nach Art eines Joysticks zur Bedienung des Mobilitätsassistenten durch das Pflegepersonal oder - nach entsprechender Freigabe - durch den Patienten dient.
