Abstract

The walking frame is for replacement of crutches for a person with a fractured or injured foot and provides greater ease of use for getting about and continuing to work. The adjustable walking frame is used for upright displacement by resting on the knee such that the foot need not touch the ground. The device is displaced, following the knee by means of a handle after the usage of a walking stick. The device is provided with four stable adjustable feet which permits the frame to be left without having to hold the same. Furthermore, the use thereof is more efficient than crutches on ascending and descending stairs. Whilst the person is not walking the frame serves as a rest for the knee and thus permits better balance. With two free hands and the person seated, the frame can also serve as stool for the injured foot. The unit is provided with adjustable mechanisms which permit usage thereof for both the left and the right side and for users of differing height.
