Definitions
- the invention relates to a treadmill device for therapy and rehabilitation of handicapped people with an endless circulating belt driven around front and rear deflection rollers and a railing consisting of vertical posts and connected with them, essentially horizontal bars, which is supported on the device frame.
- Treadmills are recognized devices for general body training, in particular the cardiovascular performance can be improved, which reduces the susceptibility to diseases of the cardiovascular system.
- a treadmill device with the technical features contained in the preamble of claim 1, but which is not intended for the disabled, is already known from DE-OS 2 503 118.
- the railing consists of four railing posts arranged in the corners of the frame, the upper ends of which are connected by means of three horizontal bars so that two horizontal bars run parallel to one another, which are cut by a front horizontal bar which marks the front end of the treadmill device.
- the railing posts are supported on the device frame and support the horizontal railing rods.
- Such a treadmill is an extremely valuable means for physical exercise and for increasing the performance of the cardiovascular system.
- Physical activity on a treadmill device of the type mentioned would serve extremely handicapped or even leg amputees, since such disabled people generally suffer from lack of exercise.
- the previously known treadmill devices are not suitable for use by the physically handicapped, because the known railing is not sufficient to provide sufficient protection against the risk of accidents and injuries.
- the invention seeks to remedy this.
- the invention as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of providing a treadmill device with safety devices so that the disabled. Use can be permitted, and facilities can also be provided which relieve and stabilize the weight of the handicapped to such an extent that the damaged musculoskeletal system can be used in a differentiated manner.
- the advantages achieved by the invention are essentially to be seen in the fact that functional mobilization with simultaneous stabilization is possible even for the severely disabled.
- the disabled person is protected from falls and can therefore concentrate on the movement of his lower limbs.
- the strain on his musculoskeletal system can be dosed differently and the resulting reduction in pain and the lack of fear of accidents motivate the disabled to continue the therapy.
- the treadmill device shown in the drawing is primarily used for the therapy and rehabilitation of the handicapped, but also for diagnostic examinations and for the ergometry of people who are not safe. It should be emphasized that the stabilization and protection devices for the handicapped can be adapted in particular to the respective body dimensions and to the respective therapy program or the like.
- an endless belt 1 guided around front and rear deflection rollers can be set in motion, so that a person standing on the belt surface is caused to perform a walking or running movement in order to remain in place.
- the treadmill and its deflection rollers are received in a device frame 2 so that essentially only the surface of the upper treadmill run is exposed.
- On both sides of the available tread there are at least foot-wide treads that allow the handicapped to step off the moving treadmill with at least one foot.
- one foot can be supported on a firm surface, so that depending on the sensitivity to joint pressure, more or less large parts of the body weight can be placed on this leg, which relieves the other leg that is still on the treadmill.
- the vertical railing posts 3 are connected to one another with the aid of railing rods 4 which run essentially horizontally.
- at least one railing rod 3 runs from the foremost left-hand railing post to the foremost right-hand railing post and is at least one railing rod 3 on each of the arranged on both sides of the treadmill in order to connect the left-hand and right-hand railing posts 3 to one another.
- the railing rods mentioned above are shown as upper railing rods 4.
- These upper railing rods 4 can be rigidly or adjustably connected to the railing posts 3.
- each lower railing rod 4 'from the upper railing rod 4 can be adjusted independently in the vertical and horizontal directions, which is done with the aid of setting and locking devices 8, which are adjustable in height and arranged on at least 2 railing posts 3 on each side of the treadmill and the angled ends of the lower railing rods 4 'can be slidably received and fixed in such a way that the lower railing rods 4' can be approximated to a greater or lesser extent.
- the setting and locking devices 8 are produced from two box profiles welded crosswise to one another, each of which has an inner diameter such that the railing posts 3 and lower railing rods 4 ′, which are preferably made of round material, are accommodated therein with slight play.
- the devices 8 can be fixed to the railing posts 3 and the angled ends of the horizontal bars 4' can be fixed in the transverse box profiles of each setting and locking device 8.
- the setting and locking devices 8 permit inclined positions of the lower railing rods 4 ', for example from the front to the rear in the direction of belt movement, and settings which differ from one another in parallel conditions, such as in the form of a funnel opening or closing from front to back. Ie at least one of the two lower railing rods 4 'can be pulled further out of the front setting and locking device 8 than from the rear, so that a widening passage between the two railing rods 4' is achieved.
- the fact that on one side of the railing the one setting and locking device 8 is arranged higher or lower than the other setting and locking device on the same side results in the inclination of each lower railing rod 4 'already mentioned.
- the setting and locking device can also be designed differently and can be provided, for example, with swivel joints. It is only important that the lower railing rods 4 'can be adjusted and locked independently of one another both in the vertical and in the horizontal direction in order to offer people of all sizes and widths sufficient security.
- At least one axillary support 5, which can be adjusted in all directions, is provided with axially supported axillary pads 6.
- two of these armpit supports 5 are provided, one to the left and one at the same height to the right of the treadmill.
- the armpits are preferably seated on railing posts 3, in which they are rotatably mounted.
- the armpit supports each have a multiply curved connecting tube between the upper end of the railing post 3 in question and the armpit cushion 6.
- the connecting tube 13 is designed such that, depending on the extent of the pivoting in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the treadmill, a more or less narrow. There is space between the two armpit pads 6.
- both the railing posts 3 and the railing rods 4 'and the armpit supports 5 can thus be adapted anthropometically to the respective patient.
- a seat 9 which can be pivoted via the treadmill 1 can be made available to him.
- This seat 9 is height adjustable and side adjustable so that it can take any position.
- the seat 9 can be arranged displaceably and lockably on a slide rail extending parallel to the treadmill.
- the seat 9 is adjustable in height, rotatable and fixable in any desired position.
- the seat 9 can also be supported on the railing rods 4 or 4 '.
- an inclined ramp 10 may be provided, provided the treadmill device is not so far embedded in the floor that the surface of the treadmill extends substantially level with the rest of the floor.
- a flexible belt 12 can be provided on the railing 3, 4 or, as shown in the drawing, on the two axillary supports 5. This can be designed as a seat belt or back belt or as a combination of such belts and also allows a certain relief of the upper parts of the body.
- This hanging system has suspension ropes that are longitudinally adjustable independently of each other.
- This suspension device is able to absorb the weight of the patient so that the musculoskeletal system is not burdened by the weight of the body.
- the suspension cables of the hanging system 16 can be connected to pulleys or other lifting devices. This also creates an extension effect of the lower extremities with sufficient relief by the device 15.
- Devices for height adjustment of one or the other end of the treadmill can be provided in the device frame 2.
- Such an adjustment device allows the surface of the treadmill to be inclined so that the patient can practice managing gradients or ascents.
- slopes also relieve operated, inflammatory or stiffened Achilles tendons.
- Leg guides that separate the legs in the longitudinal direction of the walking direction can be arranged on the frame in order to prevent the legs from crossing, for example when fitting prostheses.
- the tread can be divided into different levels in the longitudinal direction be shared.
- the belt speed and the height adjustment of the belt can be regulated automatically with the aid of a heart rate monitor.
- the patient's pulse can be measured and compared with a predetermined pulse limit range, such as a maximum number of pulses or a minimum number of pulses. If the measured pulse of the patient approaches the specified limit value, the belt speed and / or belt inclination are adjusted accordingly automatically in order to protect the patient against excessive stress.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a treadmill device for therapy and rehabilitation of handicapped people with an endless circulating belt driven around front and rear deflection rollers and a railing consisting of vertical posts and connected with them, essentially horizontal bars, which is supported on the device frame.
Treadmills are recognized devices for general body training, in particular the cardiovascular performance can be improved, which reduces the susceptibility to diseases of the cardiovascular system.
A treadmill device with the technical features contained in the preamble of claim 1, but which is not intended for the disabled, is already known from DE-OS 2 503 118. In this known treadmill device, the railing consists of four railing posts arranged in the corners of the frame, the upper ends of which are connected by means of three horizontal bars so that two horizontal bars run parallel to one another, which are cut by a front horizontal bar which marks the front end of the treadmill device. The railing posts are supported on the device frame and support the horizontal railing rods.
As already mentioned, such a treadmill is an extremely valuable means for physical exercise and for increasing the performance of the cardiovascular system. Physical activity on a treadmill device of the type mentioned would serve extremely handicapped or even leg amputees, since such disabled people generally suffer from lack of exercise. However, the previously known treadmill devices are not suitable for use by the physically handicapped, because the known railing is not sufficient to provide sufficient protection against the risk of accidents and injuries.
Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen.
The invention seeks to remedy this. The invention, as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of providing a treadmill device with safety devices so that the disabled. Use can be permitted, and facilities can also be provided which relieve and stabilize the weight of the handicapped to such an extent that the damaged musculoskeletal system can be used in a differentiated manner.
The advantages achieved by the invention are essentially to be seen in the fact that functional mobilization with simultaneous stabilization is possible even for the severely disabled. The disabled person is protected from falls and can therefore concentrate on the movement of his lower limbs. The strain on his musculoskeletal system can be dosed differently and the resulting reduction in pain and the lack of fear of accidents motivate the disabled to continue the therapy.
With the help of the device according to the invention, those who are not safe acquire security and confidence in their own performance.
- A perspective view of the treadmill device designed according to the invention.
The treadmill device shown in the drawing is primarily used for the therapy and rehabilitation of the handicapped, but also for diagnostic examinations and for the ergometry of people who are not safe. It should be emphasized that the stabilization and protection devices for the handicapped can be adapted in particular to the respective body dimensions and to the respective therapy program or the like.
With the help of a drive, not shown, an endless belt 1 guided around front and rear deflection rollers can be set in motion, so that a person standing on the belt surface is caused to perform a walking or running movement in order to remain in place. The treadmill and its deflection rollers are received in a
The vertical railing posts 3 are connected to one another with the aid of railing rods 4 which run essentially horizontally. Thus, at least one railing rod 3 runs from the foremost left-hand railing post to the foremost right-hand railing post and is at least one railing rod 3 on each of the arranged on both sides of the treadmill in order to connect the left-hand and right-hand railing posts 3 to one another. In the drawing, the railing rods mentioned above are shown as upper railing rods 4. These upper railing rods 4 can be rigidly or adjustably connected to the railing posts 3. Between the treads of the
It goes without saying that, instead of the embodiment described above, the setting and locking device can also be designed differently and can be provided, for example, with swivel joints. It is only important that the lower railing rods 4 'can be adjusted and locked independently of one another both in the vertical and in the horizontal direction in order to offer people of all sizes and widths sufficient security.
In order to stabilize, fix and relieve the upper body, at least one axillary support 5, which can be adjusted in all directions, is provided with axially supported axillary pads 6. Preferably, two of these armpit supports 5 are provided, one to the left and one at the same height to the right of the treadmill. The armpits are preferably seated on railing posts 3, in which they are rotatably mounted. The armpit supports each have a multiply curved connecting tube between the upper end of the railing post 3 in question and the armpit cushion 6. The connecting
If the patient is tired, a seat 9 which can be pivoted via the treadmill 1 can be made available to him. This seat 9 is height adjustable and side adjustable so that it can take any position. In addition, like the armpit pads 6, it is rotatably mounted. The seat 9 can be arranged displaceably and lockably on a slide rail extending parallel to the treadmill. A support 14, which is inclined to the vertical as well as to the horizontal, connects the seat 9 to a vertical support section connected in the slide rail, not shown. As a result of the inclined support 14, the seat can move on a circle in a plane parallel to the treadmill surface. As already said, the seat 9 is adjustable in height, rotatable and fixable in any desired position. However, the seat 9 can also be supported on the railing rods 4 or 4 '.
In order to allow wheelchair bound patients to use the treadmill device, at the input side of the device, i.e. the right side in the figure, an
In order to prevent a patient from falling and falling on his back despite all the safety measures already mentioned, a flexible belt 12 can be provided on the railing 3, 4 or, as shown in the drawing, on the two axillary supports 5. This can be designed as a seat belt or back belt or as a combination of such belts and also allows a certain relief of the upper parts of the body.
A suspension and extension device 15, which is supported on the
Devices (not shown) for height adjustment of one or the other end of the treadmill can be provided in the
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the belt speed and the height adjustment of the belt can be regulated automatically with the aid of a heart rate monitor. The patient's pulse can be measured and compared with a predetermined pulse limit range, such as a maximum number of pulses or a minimum number of pulses. If the measured pulse of the patient approaches the specified limit value, the belt speed and / or belt inclination are adjusted accordingly automatically in order to protect the patient against excessive stress.
