Abstract

A known screw clamp has a clamping frame, designed as a closed ring, through which there penetrates a box frame, of loop-shaped design, the two said frames being connected to one another by means of a clamping screw. In this arrangement, the clamping force which is applied by the clamping screw is introduced into the longitudinal sides of the clamping frame, which are slightly deformed thereby. Loosening of the screw connection can also result from this. A new type of screw clamp has a clamping frame (12) which is designed as an open ring so that the upper transverse side (20), penetrated by the clamping screw (16), of the clamping frame (12) gives in a resilient manner when the clamping screw is screwed tight, a defined gap being made use of between the upper transverse side (20) and a longitudinal side, used as a supporting limb (26). The new screw clamp is preferably suitable for use in electrical installation technology. <IMAGE>
