Abstract

The chair has an asynchronous parallelogram enabling simultaneous raising and tilting and a further tilting motion into a lying position. The seat can be tilted forwards in the lower seating position to provide assistance when standing up. The patient remains permanently in the central chassis area by motorized adjustment of the center of gravity.

Description

Mobile electrically height-adjustable and tiltable shower and toilet chair

The invention relates to a mobile shower and toilet chair for insecure or disabled persons who can be taken from the bed or wheelchair and moved to the toilet and wet room area to be cared for by nursing staff.

Shower and toilet chairs preferably consist of a chassis with a care or toilet seat attached, as well as a backrest, armrests and footrests.

Chair versions of this type are known in several versions.

The object of the invention is to create a chair that functions as a stand-up aid, shower and toilet chair, and also as a care chair. The latter is achieved by the fact that the entire seat frame support, including the headrest, armrests, footrests or leg rests, can be adjusted in height by motor, with an asychronous parallelogram simultaneously tilting the seat surface backwards.

An additional linear drive allows the seat inclination to be adjusted further, almost to a lying position.

This position is essential for patient care and intensive washing.

The device is controlled via a hand control with four functions.

The power supply is provided by a splash-proof control box with a removable battery.

An EMERGENCY STOP switch and an electrical emergency lowering of the seat guarantee safe operation.

Description

The shower and toilet chair (Fig. 1), equipped with a removable battery system (10), is activated by means of a hand control (11) via a multi-channel control box (9).

The functions of the lifting drives (3) for raising the seat surface (6) and the tilt linear drive (4) for adjusting the seat angle can be controlled separately.

All linear actuators (3+4) have limit switches and are additionally protected against overload by overcurrent detection.

The complete device is shown in Fig I.

The patient is taken from the bed or wheelchair by turning the armrests (7) outwards and folding them up. The patient's feet are placed on the footrest (15), the armrests (7) are folded down and turned inwards. The armrest pads (16) must point upwards, with the armrest handles (17) now securely enclosing the patient.

Now the headrest (13) is adjusted using the headrest adjustment (12) and the flexible backrest (8) is tightened from behind.

The device is now ready for use (Fig 3)

By pressing the first button level of the hand control (11), the seat (6) can now be moved to the desired working height via the push arms (5) and guide profiles (14).

During the lifting process, the seat (6) tilts slightly backwards and cannot be moved more than a few degrees forwards, even in the event of incorrect operation, in order to prevent the patient from slipping off the seat (Fig 4).

When the highest sitting position is reached, the complete unit can be moved almost to the lying position using the second button level of the hand control (11) for the tilt linear drive (4) (Fig 5).

After nursing or patient care, the process is carried out in reverse order.

To make it easier for the patient to get up, the seat can be tilted forwards in the lower position (Fig. I). To secure the chair, all four castors (2) are equipped with brakes.

Mainly a castor (2) with adjustable straight-ahead position is used to ensure easy handling when pushing the chair.

Mobile electrically height-adjustable and tiltable shower and toilet chair, characterized in that an asynchronous parallelogram enables simultaneous raising and tilting of the seat, and further tilting to a lying position is possible. 2. Mobile, electrically height-adjustable and tiltable shower and toilet chair according to claim 1, characterized in that in the lower sitting position, the seat can be tilted forwards to provide support when standing up. 3. Mobile electrically height-adjustable and tiltable shower and toilet chair, characterized in that the motorized adjustment ensures that the patient's center of gravity remains permanently in the middle of the chassis area.
