1. An infant highchair, comprising:
a vertical frame;

a locking mechanism for locking the seat in a first position and a second position;

The infant highchair of claim 4, wherein the riser comprises a pole section and the latch is engageable with first and second opposite sides of the pole section, respectively, wherein the latch is engageable with the first side of the pole section to lock the seat in the first position and the latch is engageable with the second side of the pole section to lock the seat in the second position.
6. The infant highchair of claim 5, wherein the seat is pivotally connected about the pole section.
7. The infant highchair according to claim 5, wherein said latch is pivotally connected to said seat, said lever section having a curved portion, said latch being rotatable relative to said seat between a locked condition and an unlocked condition, wherein said latch engages said curved portion to lock said seat in either the first or second position when in the locked condition and disengages said curved portion when in the unlocked condition to unlock said seat.
8. The infant highchair according to claim 4, wherein said latch member is pivotally connected to said seat about a pivot axis, said pivot axis extending vertically when said infant highchair is standing on the ground.
9. The infant highchair according to claim 4, wherein said locking mechanism further comprises a spring and a release latch, said spring and said release latch being respectively connected to said latch, the action of said spring urging said latch toward a locked condition for locking engagement with said riser, and said release latch being operable to urge said latch out of engagement with said riser to unlock said seat.
10. The infant highchair of claim 9, wherein the riser comprises a first cam surface and a second cam surface, the first cam surface being contactable with and urging the latch member when the seat approaches the first position, causing the latch member to move against the action of the spring to facilitate continued rotation of the seat to the first position, and the second cam surface being contactable with and urging the latch member when the seat approaches the second position, causing the latch member to move against the action of the spring to facilitate continued rotation of the seat to the second position, wherein the latch member is disengaged from the first cam surface when the seat reaches the first position and the latch member is disengaged from the second cam surface when the seat reaches the second position.
11. The infant highchair according to claim 9, wherein said release latch is provided on a back portion of said seat and is connected to said latch via a cable.

The infant highchair of claim 4, further comprising a blocking member and a second release lock, the blocking member being assembled with the riser, the second release lock being coupled to the blocking member, the blocking member being engageable with the seat during rotation of the seat from the first position toward the second position to urge the seat to stop in an intermediate position but to permit continued rotation of the seat from the second position through the intermediate position to the first position, and the second release lock being operable to urge the blocking member out of engagement with the seat when the seat is in the intermediate position so that the seat can rotate from the intermediate position to the second position.
13. The infant highchair according to claim 12, wherein said second release latch is concealed when said seat is in a first position and said second release latch is exposed to provide operation when said seat is in a neutral position.
14. The infant highchair according to claim 12, wherein the blocking member is pivotally connected to the riser and the seat has a hook moveable with the seat, the hook being engageable with the blocking member to urge the seat to rest in the neutral position during rotation of the seat from the first position towards the second position.
15. An infant highchair, comprising:
a stand having a shank support portion;
a seat pivotally connected to the riser and having a seating surface, the seat being rotatable relative to the riser and the calf support between a first position allowing a child to sit on the seat and contact the seating surface and a second position allowing a removable child seat to be mounted over the seat and preventing a child from sitting on the seating surface; and

The infant highchair according to claim 18, wherein said riser comprises a pole section and said latch is engageable with first and second opposed sides of said pole section, respectively, wherein said latch is engageable with said first side of said pole section to lock said seat in a first position and said latch is engageable with said second side of said pole section to lock said seat in a second position.
20. The infant highchair according to claim 19, wherein said seat is pivotally connected about said pole section.
21. The infant highchair according to claim 18, wherein said locking mechanism further comprises a spring and a release latch, said spring and said release latch being respectively connected to said latch, the action of said spring urging said latch toward a locked condition for locking engagement with said riser, and said release latch being operable to urge said latch out of engagement with said riser to unlock said seat.
22. An infant highchair, comprising:
a vertical frame;
a seat pivotally connected to the riser, the seat including a seating surface and a backrest portion and a calf support portion disposed adjacent to each other and facing in opposite directions, the seat being rotatable relative to the riser between a first position in which the seat allows a child to sit on the seat and contact the seating surface and a second position in which the seat allows a removable child seat to be mounted over the seat and prevents a child from sitting on the seating surface, the backrest portion being adapted to support the back of the child when the seat is in the first position and the calf support portion being adapted to support the calf of the child when the seat is in the second position; and
A locking mechanism for locking the seat in the first position and the second position.
23. The infant highchair according to claim 22, wherein said seat further has a mounting surface adapted to mount a removable child seat, said seat in a first position allowing a child to sit on said seat and contact said seat surface, said seat in a second position allowing a removable child seat to mount on said seat and contact said mounting surface.
24. The infant highchair according to claim 23, wherein said seating surface and said mounting surface are located on opposite sides of said seat, said seating surface facing upward when said seat is in a first position and said mounting surface facing upward when said seat is in a second position.

The infant highchair according to claim 22, wherein said locking mechanism comprises a latch member assembled with said seat, said latch member being engageable with said riser to lock said seat in said first and second positions, and said latch member being disengageable from said riser to unlock said seat for rotation between said first and second positions.
26. The infant highchair according to claim 25, wherein said locking mechanism further comprises a spring coupled to said latch, wherein the action of said spring urges said latch toward a locked condition for locking engagement with said riser.
27. The infant highchair according to claim 25, wherein said stand comprises a pole section and said latch is engageable with first and second opposed sides of said pole section, respectively, wherein said latch is engageable with said first side of said pole section to lock said seat in a first position and said latch is engageable with said second side of said pole section to lock said seat in a second position.
28. The infant highchair according to claim 27, wherein said seat is pivotally connected about said pole section.
