Abstract

An apparatus for receiving one or more movable accessories, the apparatus comprising a deck having a long axis along the deck and one or more openings between a top surface and a bottom surface of the deck. Each of the one or more openings has a circular aperture for receiving an accessory of a set of accessories. Each accessory in the set of accessories provides an activity to the active user. Background technique

Traditional fitness equipment is often limited to one exercise type or a select few exercise types. Therefore, in order to exercise different muscle groups, multiple separate pieces of exercise equipment are often used. This results in individuals acquiring multiple pieces of exercise equipment or joining a gym so that many different exercise machines can be used. As a result, traditional fitness systems are expensive, take up a lot of space, and/or provide a degree of inconvenience in having to travel to the gym.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a modular movable panel. Modular activity boards can be configured for many different activities. The movable panel may include a number of accessories for use with the modular movable panel. Modular movable panels may include decks. The deck may include a top surface and a bottom surface. The deck can have a major axis and a minor axis, the major axis being longer than the minor axis. The deck of the modular movable module may include a pair of movable accessory receivers. The movable fitting receiver can be positioned laterally from a through channel on either end of the deck. Each movable accessory receiver may be configured to removably mount a movable accessory. A movable accessory coupling mechanism may be provided in the deck for receiving the movable accessory in the movable accessory receiver and coupling the movable accessory with the deck. The movable fitting coupling mechanism may be configured to facilitate locking the movable fitting in a non-rotated position relative to the deck.

In one aspect, a modular and reconfigurable activity system is described. The modular and reconfigurable mobile system may include a modular mobile panel formed from a deck having a top surface, a bottom surface, a first end, a second end, and opposing side rails. Each of the first end and the second end may be angled upwardly from the top surface of the deck. The deck may be defined by a longitudinal axis through the first and second ends and a transverse axis through the opposing side rails through the approximate center of the deck. The deck may also have a first loose fitting receiver near the first end and a second loose fitting receiver near the second end. Each of the first loose fitting receiver and the second loose fitting receiver may be defined by a single circular hole and have a first locking mechanism with the single circular hole.

Modular and reconfigurable activity systems may include a set of activity accessories. Each movable accessory of the set of movable accessories may include an accessory platform sized and configured to fit within a single circular hole. The accessory platform may also have a second locking mechanism therewith to cooperate with the first locking mechanism to releasably secure the accessory platform in the single circular hole. Each active accessory may further include an active mechanism extending from the top and/or bottom of the accessory platform to enable activities to be performed by a rider of the modular active deck when the active accessory is secured to the deck.

The moving mechanism of the moving accessory can be one or more wheels mounted to the axles on the bottom of the accessory platform; roller stops mounted to the bottom of the accessory platform; bouncing balls mounted to the bottom of the accessory platform; A scooter handle on top, one or more wheels mounted to an axle on the bottom of an accessory platform, etc.

In another aspect, a modular exercise board is described. Modular exercise boards can include decks. The deck may include through passages at the intersection of the axes. The through channel may be configured to removably mount a plurality of different central modules. The deck may include a center module coupling mechanism for receiving the center module in the channel and coupling the center module with the deck.

The center module coupling mechanism may be configured to lock the center module in a non-rotational position relative to the deck.

The movable fitting coupling mechanism in the deck may include a threaded portion for receiving a complementary threaded portion of the movable fitting. The movable accessory coupling mechanism may also include a locking mechanism for locking the movable accessory in a non-rotated position relative to the deck. In some variations, the deck may further include a first portion of the locking mechanism, and the movable fitting may further include a second portion of the locking mechanism, the second portion configured to communicate with the first portion engage.

The deck may include a plurality of first portions of the locking mechanism at either end of the deck. The plurality of first portions of the locking mechanism may be configured to engage with the second portion of the locking mechanism on each movable fitting to provide a plurality of locking positions for the movable fitting in the movable fitting receiver.

In some variations, the moveable fitting includes a moveable fitting locking mechanism configured to couple the moveable fitting with a moveable fitting receiving portion in the deck. The movable accessory locking mechanism may include a locking member. An actuator may be provided that is configured to actuate the locking member. The movable accessory locking mechanism may include a biasing member. The biasing member may be configured to provide a bias to maintain the locking member in engagement with the deck. The bias provided by the biasing member may include a force oriented substantially parallel to the plane of the movable fitting to push the locking mechanism into the perimeter of the movable fitting receptacle when the movable fitting is disposed in the movable fitting receptacle of the deck . The deck may include a locking mechanism receiver configured to receive a locking mechanism of the movable accessory to facilitate securing the movable accessory in the movable accessory receiver. The actuator of the locking mechanism may be configured to overcome the bias provided by the biasing member in order to release the locking member from the deck. The actuator of the locking mechanism may be configured to facilitate the user to overcome the bias provided by the biasing member.

The center module of the modular exercise board can be selected from a number of different types of center modules to perform different types of exercises. For example, the center module may be selected from the group consisting of rolling ball, bouncing ball, flat face plug, halo destabilizer, active bouncing ball, or other center modules. The option of the central module may further include a floor contacting base configured to fit in the through channel and to contact the floor surface when the board is in use. In some variations, the first portion of the center module may extend below the deck. The second portion of the central module may be substantially flush with the top surface of the deck.

Exercise accessories can be selected from a number of different types of exercise accessories for performing different types of exercises. For example, exercise accessories may be selected from the group consisting of grips, pans with foot straps, deck plugs, loops with attached elastic straps, balance roller stops, skateboard mounts, or other exercise accessories. Workout accessories can be selected to complement the selected center module. In some use cases, the selection of exercise accessories may be independent of the selection of the center module.

The exercise board may further include elastic straps attached to the board surface for use by a user while standing on the board surface.

In one variation, the exercise accessory receiver may be a generally circular channel in which the exercise accessory is removably mounted. The channel may be formed on one side by a portion of a circle in the deck, and on the opposite side by a removable C-shaped portion that, when attached to the deck, completes the circular lateral reception device location channel.

Another aspect of the present disclosure relates to an apparatus for receiving one or more accessory modules. The accessory module provides exercise accessories to enable exercise modes. The device may include a deck having a top surface, a bottom surface, a proximal end, a distal end, and opposing sides. The deck may further have a long axis from the proximal end to the distal end, and a short axis between opposing sides, the long axis being longer than the short axis.

The apparatus may include one or more attachment mechanisms associated with at least one of the top and/or bottom surfaces of the deck. The one or more attachment mechanisms may have a coupling mechanism, wherein each of the one or more attachment mechanisms of the deck is configured to couple with the attachment mechanism of the one or more accessory modules . Each accessory module in the set of accessory modules can provide an exercise mode for use with the deck. The coupling mechanism of each of the one or more attachment mechanisms may be configured to couple the accessory module with the attachment mechanism after the attachment mechanism is coupled with the accessory module.

In some variations, the coupling mechanism of each of the one or more attachment mechanisms is configured to lock the accessory module and the attachment mechanism in a non-rotational position after the attachment mechanism and the accessory module are connected.

In some variations, at least one of the one or more attachment mechanisms is a single through channel between the top and bottom surfaces of the deck. A single through passage may be defined by the inner periphery and include threads along at least a portion of the inner periphery. A locking mechanism may be associated with the through channel and may include retractable pins to engage corresponding notches in the accessory module. In other variations, the locking mechanism may be associated with the through channel and include a notch for receiving a retractable pin in the accessory module.

The central module may be a generally resilient protrusion below the deck and may or may not extend above the deck. The portion of the central module extending below the deck can be firm but resilient and provide a certain amount of spring force for bouncing motion when in contact with the floor below the device. A variation of the center module is less elastic, less elastic, and provides a stable platform for workouts that don't involve rebounding. The center module may also have rebound enhancing means, such as springs, to induce greater rebound. The center module may include a mounting device, such as a locking ring, which may be configured in various ways to removably lock the center module in place in the deck. The mounting means may be essentially a ring with extending arms that are screwed into a locked position by a quarter turn or quarter screw into a receiving slot or thread built into the deck. The central module may have a portion extending below the deck, which may be rounded on the bottom or may be flat, or a portion extending above the deck, with or without a handle. The locking means may be a bayonet mount in which the tabs on the sides of the locking ring fit into the tabs in the deck so that when the locking ring is rotated in one direction, the tabs lock in place in the deck. The central module may have a portion protruding above the deck surface, and the portion may be a generally tubular segment with a handle built into the end. It can also be roughly flush with the top of the deck, rather than extending above the top of the deck.

An example of an exercise accessory is a ring with a handle in its center. The handles will be spaced a suitable distance from each other to provide the user with a push-up position, where the handles are rotated into various positions to exercise different muscle groups in the arms and shoulders. An exercise accessory in the form of a handle can also be securely locked in place, in a preferred embodiment, for example, perpendicular to the long axis of the deck. Other examples of exercise accessories may be skateboard mounts with wheels mounted in place in a lateral receiving position, which allows the deck of the exercise board to become a skateboard. Another example of a lateral exercise accessory is an exercise accessory that is round and disc-shaped and locks in place, flush with the deck, and has straps that engage the user's foot to hold it in place.

In one configuration of the disclosed technology, in a variation of the deck, the end pieces of the deck are removable. In this variant with removable deck tips, with the deck tips removed, the exercise accessory is exposed and can slide without engaging the deck. When the deck ends are fitted around the lateral exercise accessory, the accessory is locked in place on the deck and ready for use. The deck may also include resistance band attachments that slide into prepared slots or attachment points on the deck. The strap anchor is thus locked in place in the deck end, and the cable can be attached to the fixed anchor position to create resistance for the user when manipulating the base. The deck may also include a handle area on the minor axis of the deck adjacent the central module. Variations of decks with these auxiliary grips can thus have four or five grip positions. Two auxiliary grips, two lateral exercise accessories in the form of grips and the top of the central module in the form of grips.

The central module may be a resilient rubber-like material that protrudes below and above the deck. There may be a hollow top above the deck portion with a grip area therein. The central assembly can also be formed by a collar portion that locks the omnidirectional ball in place so that the ball can rotate like the ball on the end of a ballpoint pen while supporting the deck. The aforementioned deck portion of this type of central module may be hard plastic and have a handle. Another variation of the central module is one in which the portion below the deck is in the shape of a flat plate, with less or no portion protruding above the deck. Accessory options and fixtures exist for center modules, as well as lateral mounting positions. These optional devices allow the deck to enter the balance plate, allowing the user to balance on a freely rotatable cylinder.

Detailed ways

This document describes a modular exercise device that is configured to facilitate a user performing different exercises using the same piece of equipment.

While the presently disclosed inventive concept is susceptible to various modifications and alternative constructions, certain illustrated embodiments thereof have been shown in the drawings and will be described in detail below. It should be understood, however, that there is no intention to limit the inventive concept to the particular form disclosed, but on the contrary, the presently disclosed and claimed inventive concept encompasses all that falls within the spirit and scope of the inventive concept as defined by the claims. Modifications, Alternative Constructions, and Equivalents.

Referring to Figure 1, an exemplary embodiment of a deck 100 for a modular exercise board is shown. The deck may have a long axis 102 and a short axis 104 . A through channel 106 may be defined at the intersection 108 of the major axis 102 and the minor axis 104 . The through channel 106 may be configured to removably mount a plurality of different center modules. The deck 106 may include a central module coupling mechanism 110 . The center module coupling mechanism 110 may be configured to receive the center module in the through channel 106 and couple the center module with the deck 100 .

The deck 100 may include a pair of exercise accessory receivers 112 . The exercise accessory receiver 112 may be positioned laterally from the through channel 106 . Exercise accessory receivers 112 may be located on either end of deck 100 . Exercise accessory receiver 112 may be configured to removably mount an exercise accessory. An exercise accessory coupling mechanism 114 may be provided in the deck 100 . The exercise accessory coupling mechanism 114 may be configured to receive and couple an exercise accessory.

Figure 2 depicts an implementation of an accessory 200 or modular exercise accessory. The accessory 200 may include a handle 202 . The handle 202 can be coupled with the mounting mechanism 204 and mounted horizontally within the mounting mechanism 204 . Mounting mechanism 204 may be configured to mount accessory 200 in any of a plurality of holes or openings in a deck, such as deck 100 shown in FIG. 1 . The holes or openings can be positioned anywhere in the deck 100 . The mounting mechanism 204 may be a ring for fitting within a circular opening in the deck. In such an implementation, the mounting mechanism 204 may be snapped into the opening by one or more pins extending (retractable or non-retractable) from the mounting mechanism 204, or the mounting mechanism 204 may take any shape to fit with the hole corresponding shape. For example, the hole may be square, and the mounting mechanism may include a square frame sized and adapted to fit within the square hole, and one or more pins, latches, tabs, grooves, etc. to interface with the board surface Corresponding structures at the holes interlock.

The handle 202 of the accessory 200 may be tubular, or may include one or more protrusions, protrusions, ridges, grooves, channels, finger grips, etc., to allow a better grip by the user's hand. In some preferred implementations, when modular exercise accessory 100 is coupled to a deck, handle 202 may be horizontal, ie, in the plane of the top surface of the deck. In other implementations, the handle 202 may include at least a portion that is angled away from the plane of the plate. The handle 202 may also be at least partially covered or wrapped by a compressible material such as foam, plastic, rubber, etc., or may be formed with the mounting mechanism 204 from a unitary rigid material.

The accessory 200 may also include a coupling mechanism 206 to lock the mounting mechanism 204 of the accessory 200 in a fixed mounting position with the hole and deck. As shown in FIG. 2 , the coupling mechanism 206 includes an actuator 208 that actuates the locking member 210 . In some preferred implementations, the locking members 210 are tabs or pins that fit into corresponding receiving recesses or through-channels in the openings in the deck. In some other implementations, the locking members 210 may be one or more of pins, latches, bolts, screws, threads, grooves, ridges, or the like that mate with corresponding structures or openings in the board surface.

In some variations of the disclosed subject matter, the coupling mechanism 206 may be provided in the deck and include locking members 210 , such as tabs or pins, configured to engage corresponding notches provided in one or more of the accessories 200 . In some variations, a plurality of coupling mechanisms 206 , each having a locking member 210 and a corresponding notch, may be arranged around the accessory or modular exercise accessory 200 .

The locking member 210 can be extended and retracted by operation of the actuator 208 . In some implementations, the actuator 208 is a spring-loaded button within the handle 202 and/or mounting mechanism 204 . The spring-loaded button can be biased to extend out of the locking member 210 to retain the locking member in a corresponding locking configuration in the deck or hole, and can be activated by the user of the actuator 208 (ie, the button is directed toward the accessory) 200 and slide away from the side of the hole) to overcome this bias. In other implementations, the actuator 208 may be a spring-loaded button mounted to extend vertically or at an angle upward from the handle 202 and/or mounting mechanism 204 and drive the locking member 210 to retract and extend.

As described above, the locking member 210 has a locked position, such as a tab extending from the mounting mechanism, and an unlocked position, such as when the tab is retracted into the mounting mechanism. Other forms of locked and unlocked positions can be used, such as hinged latches that can be actuated to rotate to engage with holes or ridges or indentations on the panel or other latches. In a preferred implementation, the accessory 200 includes only a single locking mechanism 206 for enabling one-handed operation of the actuator 208 and enabling coordinated removal or mounting of the accessory 200 from the deck, respectively. In other embodiments, the accessory 200 can include two or more locking mechanisms 206 disposed on the accessory 200 for greater securing and locking and to reduce the ease with which the accessory 200 can be disengaged from the deck. In some implementations, a single actuator 208 can operate multiple locking members 210 .

In some implementations, the mounting mechanism 204 of the accessory 200 can include a flange 212 . Flanges 212 may be configured to engage complementary flanges in one or more holes or openings in a deck, such as deck 100 shown in FIG. 1 . The flanges 212 may be configured to rotatably engage complementary flange(s) of one or more holes or openings in the deck, for example, to screw into the holes or openings in the deck.

FIG. 3 shows an exemplary embodiment of a locking mechanism 206 for use with accessory 200 . Locking mechanism 206 may include actuator 208 and locking member 210 . As described above, the locking member 210 can be extended and retracted by operation of the actuator 208 . The actuator 208 may be a spring-loaded button disposed within the accessory 200 . The spring-loaded button can be biased to extend the locking member 210 laterally with the accessory 200 . Spring loading may be provided by one or more biasing elements 214 . The locking mechanism 206 may be provided in a locking mechanism receiver 216 in the accessory 200 (shown in FIG. 2 ). The locking mechanism receiver 216 may include a locking mechanism cover 218 configured to secure the locking mechanism 206 into the locking mechanism receiver 216 . Locking mechanism receiver 216 may have a complementary shape to locking mechanism 206 . The locking mechanism receiver 216 may have a shape suitable for engagement with the one or more biasing elements 214 . The shape of the locking mechanism housing 216 may cause the biasing elements 214 to deform inwardly toward each other when the actuator 208 is slid laterally away from the periphery of the accessory 200 . Inward deformation of the biasing element 214 may cause the biasing element 214 to become biased and tend to attempt to reposition itself in its original configuration. The locking mechanism housing 216 is shaped such that when the actuator 208 is slid sideways and then released, the locking mechanism 206 slides laterally in the locking mechanism receiver 216 such that the locking member 210 extends from the periphery of the accessory 200 .

In some variations, the locking member 210 may be configured to retract when the accessory 200 is initially disposed in the opening in the deck. The locking member 210 may include a sloped portion, and when the accessory 200 is pushed into the opening in the deck, the perimeter of the opening engages the sloped portion such that the locking member 210 retracts and engages the biasing element 214 . When the locking member 210 is positioned adjacent to the receiving recess, the locking member 210 may extend into the recess due to the return of the biasing element 214 to its previous state. Where the locking mechanism 206 is provided in the plate, the device may function similarly. Engagement of the accessory against the angled locking member may cause the angled locking member to retract.

As shown in FIG. 4, the exercise device 400 may include a deck 402 having a through channel 404 with a locking mechanism that allows the user to switch from one exercise mode by installing various accessories or modular exercise accessories Quickly switch to another workout mode. Shown in FIG. 4 is an exercise board 400 that includes a board surface 402 having a top surface 406 and a bottom surface 408 . The deck 402 includes a long axis 410 and a short axis 412 . The through channel 404 is located at the intersection of the major and minor axes, and the through channel 404 provides an opening in the center of the plate surface 402 . The through channel 404 is configured to receive the center module 14, which may take various configurations. The center module 414 may extend below the deck 402, it may extend above the deck 404, it may be flush with the top or bottom surface of the deck, or it may be flush with both the top and bottom surfaces of the deck together. Such a configuration may occur when exercise device 400 is modified to function as a skateboard, as discussed with reference to other figures. In an implementation consistent with the illustration of FIG. 4 , the center module 414 may have a handle 416 on top of it above the deck.

The exercise board includes a mounting mechanism 418 , which may be a rotating ring 420 as shown in FIG. 4 . The rotating ring may be a fixed ring relative to the deck 402 , but allows the center module 414 to rotate relative to the rotating ring 420 . In the mounting mechanism of FIG. 4 , extension tabs 422 extend from rotating ring 420 and fit into slots 424 . The grooves 424 may allow the swivel ring 420 to be locked in place by partial twisting of the swivel ring, or they may fit into the threads allowing the swivel ring 420 to be secured by screwing it into place. Shown in FIG. 4 is a pair of lateral receiving locations 428 . Lateral receiving location 428 may be an exercise accessory receiver. Lateral receiving locations 428 may be provided on either side of the center module 414 . The lateral receiving locations 428 may be configured to facilitate removable mounting of a number of different types of exercise accessories 430 . In the view shown in Figure 4, the exercise accessory is a handle 432, but other types of exercise accessories are available, and the important concept of the device is that the exercise board utilizes a center module selected from a number of available center modules, And the workout accessories are selected from a number of available workout accessories.

Plate 400 can be of various sizes and shapes. In many configurations, the deck 402 is longer on the long axis 410 than on the short axis 412 . The deck can be made from a variety of materials, including plastic, wood, graphite, aluminum, or other suitable materials that are strong and lightweight for the intended exercise purpose. The top side 406 of the deck can be plastic polyethylene and can have a textured surface for grip and aesthetics. A typical configuration for a deck is 26.7 in length, 14.9 in width, and a deck thickness of 0.78. For example, the diameter of the receiver location or modular exercise receiver can be from 1.5 inches to 3 inches. As an example, the diameter of the through channel 404 may be 8.6 inches to 10 inches.

The underside of the deck can be lined with rigid plastic rails that allow the deck to slide easily over any smooth surface. This allows the user to perform a wide variety of core strengthening exercises as well as upper and lower body strength training exercises such as abdominal curls, lateral extension bias pushes and reverse lunges.

The disclosed exercise device may include a threaded locking system for the center module. The threaded locking system for the center module may include a two-stage mechanism that secures the center module attachment. The central modular unit will apply an upward or downward force to the deck 402 via the through channel 404, twist and lock into place. The center module attachment may be configured to remain locked in place in the deck 402 until released. This release may be facilitated by a release button or other release device on the top or bottom side of the deck 402 adjacent the through channel 404 . Such a release means may be a release button or actuator arranged in the central module attachment 414 . In some variations, a release device may be provided in the rotating ring 420 .

In some variations of the present subject matter, a user may remove the central modular attachment and/or modular exercise accessory by unscrewing it from a threaded opening or bayonet.

By combining different central modules 414 and different modular exercise accessories 430 depending on the configuration the user chooses to create with exercise board 400, the side view of the device may look quite different from that shown in Figure 4 . FIG. 5 shows the annular structure 432 in side view, which is one type of mounting device used to secure the center module 414 to the deck 402 . Also shown in FIG. 5 is a side view of a specific example of center module 414 . This particular example of the center module 414 consists of a lower half, typically a hemisphere, and a partial sphere on top of the deck. The upper portion of this particular example of center module 414 has a top that is flush with the handle. This version of the center module 414 is referred to as a bouncing ball, and it is preferably inflated rather than solid. It is elastic and made of flexible material such as rubber, polyurethane, PVC or another flexible material.

The bouncing ball is configured to create a very unstable surface, allowing the user to use the bouncing movement to develop balance, coordination and strength. Additionally, the bouncing ball attachment develops the cardiovascular system as the bouncing action mimics a rebound or mini trampoline. Bouncing increases the user's heart rate, so the bouncing ball attachment is ideal for interval training, where the user bounces vigorously for short periods of time to increase the heart rate, then slows or stops bouncing to recover. The process repeats for the desired time interval period for the desired time period. To bounce, the user stands on the board. Foot straps can be used, or the feet can rest on the grips or handles, or the side receiver positions can be loaded with pans covering the openings. To bounce, the user can use the side attachment to bring the foot into the board, or can squeeze the upper board portion of the ball between their feet for grip. When the user begins the bouncing motion, the user's small initial jump can be built into a larger jump. The top side is designed so that the foot can wedge under the most bulbous portion of the ball for grip and control.

The bouncing ball attachment version of the center module 141 can be used for upper and lower body strength exercises, such as push-ups or squats. For push-ups, the hands can be anywhere on the board, but they will most likely be used in the grip 432 configuration of the modular exercise accessory attachment location. Through these exercises, the user develops greater balance, core strength, and engagement stabilizers.

Referring to Figure 6, the exercise device may include a central module 414 in the form of an expandable shaped ball, as shown in Figure 10, which features a ring that holds the expandable ball at its narrowest point on the ring. The ring facilitates securing the ball to the deck 402 . FIG. 6 is an embodiment of the apparatus and includes a central module similar to that shown in FIG. 3 . It also includes an annular structure 434 that fits into the mounting device 418 . In this case, the annular structure 434 is larger than that shown in FIG. 1 and includes a handle 436 . In the view shown in FIG. 6 , the deck 402 is formed by a first half 438 and a second half 440 , wherein the two halves are locked together by a lock 442 . Lock 442 may be a cam lock. In this particular embodiment, the cam lock 442 is part of the mounting device 48 and because it reduces the circumference of the through channel 404, it locks the deck 402 more tightly around the annular structure 434. The version shown in FIG. 6 also includes end pieces 444 that are attachable and removable from the deck 402 . The end piece 444 clamps the selected modular exercise accessory 430 in the lateral receiver position 428 . In this case, the handle 432 is the selected lateral exercise accessory 430 .

Additionally, the exercise device may include removable elastic resistance bands that fit into clip structures or grooves in the bottom of the unit and pass through the handles on either side. This feature allows the user to easily hold the exercise device while jumping using the straps held in the hands and attached to the deck. It also allows users to engage in strength training exercises such as bicep curls and deltoid lifts.

FIG. 7 shows a version of exercise board 400 that includes a center module 414 that extends above and below board deck 402 in this particular example. Mounting means 418 in this particular example are a pair of arcuate tabs that fit into corresponding slots and allow a partial turn of mounting ring 446 to secure it into through channel 404 of deck 402 . The embodiment shown in FIG. 7 also includes a first half 438 and a second half 440 of the deck 402 , as is the case with the device shown in FIG. 6 . A lock 442 , such as a cam lock, securely holds the mounting ring 446 in place and joins the first half 438 with the second half 440 . Illustrated in FIG. 7 is a modular exercise accessory 430, which is similar to that shown previously. Also shown in FIG. 7 is a belt anchor 448 . Strap anchors 448 clip into place on the board and allow for attachment of elastic exercise straps. Exercise bands can be used with handles at one end for exercises such as bicep curls, deltoid lifts, or other exercises that can be performed on these bands.

FIG. 8 shows another version of exercise device 400 that includes a center module 414 having a mounting ring 446 as part of a mounting mechanism 418 . The device includes a through channel 404 and in this case the modular exercise accessory receiver 428 has no modular exercise accessories. The modular exercise accessory receiver can be configured to form a handle without any accessories. The upper portion of the center module 414 includes a handle 416 .

Figure 9 shows various center modules 414, including some that protrude above and below the deck, some that are flush with the deck, some that protrude only below the deck, and some that only protrude below the deck A central module protruding above the face is also possible. The left center module is the bouncing ball, then the right is the board plug, the upper left is the halo destabilizer, and the lower right center module is the rolling ball, which has a spinning ball on one side of the center module, which can be used on the floor. Scroll up in any direction. One version of a bouncing ball is one that includes a mechanical device, such as a spring, to enhance the energy returned to the user in the form of a bounce. This version of the bouncing ball is called an aggressive bouncing ball.

In FIG. 9 , the middle diagram shows an optional center module referred to as halo destabilization module 450 . The function of the halo destabilization module is to create moderate and varying unstable surfaces of increased difficulty, developing and improving stability and strength through a wide range of upper and lower body exercises. The user can stand on the board with the halo destabilizing module in place, doing this exercise with free weight bicep curls. As an example, when he's doing other exercises, he has to balance on a swinging and unstable board, so he's working on the core muscles while doing bicep curls. He can also do push-ups with the halo destabilizer in place and get a different workout than regular push-ups because more muscles are used to balance the constantly moving board. The material of the halo destabilization module will generally be a softer and more flexible material, and can be a solid foam or a soft expanded shape.

Figure 10 shows an exploded version of the center module 414 as a rolling ball. FIG. 11 shows a cross-sectional view of the center module 414 shown in FIG. 10 . The ball engages the ground and the board and can move in any direction. In the configuration shown in FIG. 10 , the rolling ball 1000 is able to roll freely within the housing 1002 . This can be used for abdominal flattening, where the user's knees are on the floor, the device is pushed forward to its fullest extent, and the abdominal muscles are used to pull it back, with the ball rolling under the user's guidance. This configuration will assist the user with core exercises. The rolling ball 1000 is fixed by the housing 1002 . The housing may include bearings 1004 . Bearings 1004 may be positioned perpendicular to the axis of center module 414 . Bearing 1004 may include a plurality of ball bearings 1006 . Bearings 1004 may facilitate movement of ball 1000 in any direction. In some variations, the bearing 1004 may limit movement of the ball 100 in a limited amount of directions.

In some variations, the balls used in the rollers may be spherical balls having a harder consistency than the expandable balls in other center modules, as shown in some of the center modules in FIG. 9 . Roller ball 1000 is secured to center module 414 by housing 1002 . The bottom 1008 of the housing 1002 may extend below the widest portion of the ball 1000 . Bearings 1004 (eg, ball bearings, smooth plastic, Teflon, or other types of bearings) may be used to facilitate the rolling of the captured balls. In some variations, the bearing 1004 may be below the widest portion of the ball 1000 . In some variations, the housing 1002 may include a plurality of bearings to facilitate movement of the ball 1000 when force is applied to the ball 1000 from any direction. Free motion may be facilitated by the interaction of the ball 1000 with the horizontal bearing 1004 surrounding the ball 1000 . The housing 1002 surrounding the ball 1000 and surrounding bearings 1004 can be opened from the top. This removes dust and debris easily. This configuration of the center module promotes core exercises and strength training. As the ball moves in all directions, it comes into contact with the bearing, allowing the ball to spin smoothly.

An important feature of the disclosed technology is that the central module can be one of several units and the modular exercise accessory can be one of several units, all of which can be selected by the user for the exercise he wants to do.

12 illustrates an implementation of a central module 1200 for use with an exercise device having one or more features consistent with the presently disclosed subject matter. FIG. 13 shows an implementation of the mounting ring 1202 . Mounting ring 1202 may be used in conjunction with center module 1200 to mount center module 1200 into the deck of an exercise device. Such a deck is shown in FIG. 1 . The center module 1200 can include an upper portion 1204 that is configured to stand proudly on top of the deck when the center module 1200 is mounted to the deck. The upper portion 1204 may include a handle portion 1206 . The handle portion 1206 may be facilitated by a setback portion 1208 in the top portion 1206 of the center module 1200. The indented portion 1208 may be formed in the top portion 1206 of the center module 1200 by a mold. In some implementations, the indented portion 1208 can be carved from the top portion 1206 .

The center module 1200 may include a bottom portion 1210 . Bottom portion 1210 may be configured to extend below the bottom of the deck when center module 1200 is installed into the deck. Bottom portion 1210 may have an arcuate shape. The arcuate shape of the bottom portion 1210 extending below the bottom of the circuit board may make the board unstable. When the board is in use, the unstable board can facilitate the user to engage the core muscles to keep the exercise device upright and to keep the board substantially level with the ground.

The center module 1200 may include a mounting ring engagement portion 1212 . Mounting ring engagement portion 1212 may include a portion of center module 1200 that is narrower than surrounding portions of center module 1200 . The mounting ring engagement portion 1212 may facilitate securing the mounting ring 1202 to the center module 1200 . Mounting ring engagement portion 1212 may be formed from a mold. Mounting ring engagement portion 1212 may be formed by being engraved from center module 1200 .

In some variations, the center module 1200 may be inflatable. During expansion, the mounting ring 1202 may be secured to the expandable center module 1200 . The center module can be deployed and expanded through the mounting ring 1202 . The center module 1200 may be disposed in the mounting ring 1202 such that the mounting ring engagement portion 1212 is coupled with the mounting ring 1202 as the expandable center module 1200 is expanded. In some variations, mounting ring 1202 may be secured to center module 1200 by bonding to center module 1200 (where center module 1200 may or may not be expandable). Mounting ring 1202 may be coupled to center module 1200 at mounting ring engaging portion 1212 . In some variations, the mounting ring 1202 may be continuous with the center module 1200 .

Mounting ring 1202 may include mounting flange 1214 . Mounting flanges 1214 may engage complementary flanges around the perimeter of channels 404 of deck 402, as shown in FIG. Engagement by the mounting flange 1214 with a complementary flange at the perimeter of the channel 404 of the deck 402 may occur by rotational engagement. Securing the center module 1200 into the deck may be facilitated by engagement of the mounting flange 1214 with a complementary flange in the perimeter of the channel 404 of the deck 402.

14 shows an illustration of a central module 1400 for an exercise device having one or more features consistent with the presently disclosed subject matter. The particular center module 14 shown in Figure 14 is a halo destabilizer. The function of the halo destabilization module 1400 is to create a moderate and variable unstable surface that increases difficulty, develops and improves stability and strength through a wide range of upper and lower body exercises. The halo destabilizer may include a circular support 1402 . The circular support 1402 may be compressible. When the circular support 1402 is compressed, the outer perimeter 1404 and the inner perimeter 1406 may bend. The halo destabilizer may include a mounting ring 1408 . Mounting ring 1408 may be configured to secure the halo destabilizer to a panel of exercise equipment having one or more features consistent with the presently disclosed subject matter. An example of such a plate is shown in FIG. 1 .

Mounting ring 1408 may be configured to engage directly with the plate. Mounting ring 1408 may be configured to engage with an intermediate ring, which in turn is configured to engage with a plate. The mounting ring 1408 of the halo destabilizer may include mounting pins 1410 . The mounting pins 1410 may be configured to engage with mounting pin receivers 1412 in the mounting ring 1202, as shown in FIG. 13 . Mounting pin 1410 may be configured to slidably engage mounting pin receiver 1412 . This can aid in the rotation of the deck around the halo destabilizer, providing an additional degree of freedom.

15 illustrates an embodiment of a center module 1500 for use with an exercise device having one or more features consistent with the presently disclosed subject matter. The center module 1500 may be configured as a through channel covering the deck. Such a central module 1500 may be used when other central modules are not in use, but one or more modular exercise accessories are in use. The central module 1500 may have a coupling mechanism to couple the central module 1500 to the coupling mechanism of the through channel of the deck. The center module 1500 may include one or more flanges 1502 as a coupling mechanism for coupling the center module 1500 to the deck. One or more flanges 1502 may engage complementary coupling mechanisms of the deck. The center module 1500 may be coupled to the deck by rotating the center module 1500 into the through channel of the deck, thereby engaging the one or more flanges 1502 with complementary coupling mechanisms of the deck. Center module 1500 may include finger holes 1504 . The finger holes 1504 may facilitate manipulation by the user. The user can use the finger holes 1504 to rotate the center module 1500 into the through channel of the deck.

Figure 16 shows several different attachments or modular exercise accessories 1600 for attaching to an exercise board. Accessories or modular exercise accessories 1600 may include skateboard mounts 1602, foot straps 1604, grips 1606, strap attachment loops 1608, and other modular exercise accessories. Modular exercise accessories can also be deck plugs (as shown in Figure 20). Strap attachment loop 1608 may include a wrap-around strap system. A winding tape system can be attached to the loop 1608 . The wound tape system may be attached to the loop at one or more lateral positioning points. The winding strap system may be configured to allow the user to adjust the resistance level and/or length of the strap. This band can be used for resistance and strength training purposes. In some variations, clip 1610 may be attached to the other end of the strap. The clip 1610 may be configured to attach to the handle.

FIG. 17 shows accessory 1700 . The accessory 1700 shown in Figure 17 is a skateboard bracket. Exercise accessory 1700 may include coupling mechanism 1702 . The coupling mechanism 1702 may be configured to couple the accessory 1700 to the exercise accessory receiver on either end of the plate. Accessory 1700 may include locking mechanism receiver 1704 . Locking mechanism receiver 1704 may be configured to receive a locking mechanism, such as locking mechanism 206 shown in FIG. 3 .

Two skateboard brackets can be attached to the board. Each skateboard bracket can be coupled to a different exercise accessory receiver on either end of the board. Such a configuration may resemble a skateboard. Users of the modular exercise device can use the modular exercise device like a skateboard.

FIG. 18 shows accessory 1800 . Attachment 1800 can be used in conjunction with rollers. The attachment 1800 may be configured such that the attachment 1800 prevents movement of the roller relative to the plate when the plate is placed on top of the roller. The attachment 1800 may include a relatively smooth portion 1802 that is configured to be flush with the underside of the board when the attachment 1800 is disposed in the exercise accessory receiver of the board. Attachment 1800 may include lip 1804 . The lip 1804 is configured to prevent the travel of the rollers past the lip 1804 . Accessory 1800 may include handle 1806 . Handle 1806 may be configured to facilitate orientation of accessory 1800. The lip 1804 can be oriented such that the lip is substantially perpendicular to the long axis and substantially parallel to the short axis of the plate.

Accessory 1800 may include locking mechanism receiver 1808 . Locking mechanism receiver 1808 may be configured to receive a locking mechanism, such as locking mechanism 206 shown in FIG. 3 . The lip 1804 can be properly positioned when the attachment 1800 is positioned in the modular exercise receiver in the board such that the locking mechanism engages the board. Two modular exercise accessories 1800 may be provided in opposing modular exercise receivers, respectively. In such a configuration, the plate may be positioned on top of the rollers such that the rollers are positioned substantially parallel to the short axis of the plate. The user can stand on the board and balance the board on the rollers so that no part of the board is directly in contact with the ground. Lips 1806 on each modular exercise accessory 1800 can prevent the board from moving relative to the board in a manner that causes the rollers to roll over the ends of the board.

Figure 19 shows roller 1810. Roller 1810 may be used in conjunction with attachment 1800 shown in FIG. 18 . Roller 1810 may include roller surface 1812 . Roller 1810 may include different roller surfaces 1812. Different roller surfaces 1812 may have different properties. One of the different roller surfaces 1812 may include properties that make the roller surface 1812 malleable and relatively soft compared to the other roller surfaces 1812 . This roller surface allows the plate on the roller to be balanced relatively easily compared to other roller surfaces. Another different roller surface 1812 may include properties that make the roller surface 1812 relatively stiff compared to other roller surfaces 1812. This roller surface can make it relatively difficult to balance the plate on the roller compared to other roller surfaces. A number of different grades of rolls may be available. When roller 1810 is used, a center module having a bottom surface configured to be substantially flush with the bottom surface of the board, such as center module 1500 shown in Figure 15, can be used to close the center opening of the circuit board.

Figure 20 shows an accessory 2000 for placement in an exercise accessory receiver on either end of the board. Accessory 2000 can be used as shown in FIG. 20 to cover the exercise accessory receiver of the board. In this way, the board can be used with a center module, such as the one shown in Figures 4-14, to facilitate a user standing on the board.

Accessory 2000 may include strap mount 2002 . Strap mounts 2002 may be configured to receive straps on modular exercise accessory 1604 for pedals (eg, the pedals shown in FIG. 16 ). In some variations, strap mount 2002 may be configured to receive a resistance band. In some variations, strap mount 2002 may be configured to receive a strap for a handle.

Accessory 2000 may include locking mechanism receiver 2004 . Locking mechanism receiver 2004 may be configured to receive a locking mechanism, such as locking mechanism 206 shown in FIG. 3 . When the locking mechanism is engaged with the plate, it can allow the attachment 2000 to be properly oriented for one or more exercises.

21 is an illustration of a modular movable panel 2100 having one or more features consistent with the presently disclosed subject matter. FIG. 22 shows an exploded view of the modular movable panel 2100 of FIG. 21 . Modular movable panel 2100 may include movable panel surface 2101 . The movable deck 2101 can be made of one or more of the following materials: polymer, polypropylene plastic with glass filler, polypropylene plastic without glass filler, nylon plastic with glass filler, plastic without glass filler Nylon plastic, wood composite, carbon fiber, etc. When glass filler is included, the glass filler may be between 20-30% of the material.

The movable deck 2102 may have a top surface 2103a and a bottom surface 2103b. Active deck 2102 may be defined by longitudinal axis 2104 and transverse axis 2106 . In some variations, longitudinal axis 2104 may be longer than transverse axis 2106 . The movable deck 2102 may include a first end 2108 and a second end 2110 . The first end 2108 may be opposite the second end 2110 . First end 2108 and second end 2110 may be angled relative to movable deck surface 2101 such that first end 2112 and second end 2114 of first end 2108 and second end 2110 rise above movable deck surface 2102 high. The movable deck 2102 may include opposing side rails 2115a and 2115b.

The central portion of the deck 2102 may be solid and continuous.

The longitudinal axis 2104 may extend through the first end 2108 and the second end 2110 . The transverse axis 2106 may pass through the approximate center 2117 of the deck through opposing side rails 2115a and 2115b.

The modular movable deck 2100 can include a first movable accessory receiver 2116 proximate the first end 2108 of the deck 2102 . In some variations, the modular movable panel 2100 can include a second movable accessory receiver 2118 proximate the second end 2110 of the movable panel surface 2102 . The first movable fitting receiver 2116 and the second movable fitting receiver 2118 may be defined by a single circular hole 2119 . The first movable receiver 2116 and the second movable receiver 2118 may have a first locking mechanism therewith.

The first movable accessory receiver 2116 and the second movable accessory receiver 2118 may be configured to receive one or more of a set of movable accessories. Each movable accessory in the set of movable accessories may include an accessory platform 2121 . The accessory platform can be sized and configured to fit within the circular holes 2119 of the first movable receiver 2116 and/or the second movable receiver 2118. The accessory platform 2121 may have a second locking mechanism to cooperate with the first locking mechanism of the first movable receiver 2116 and/or the second movable receiver 2118 to releasably secure the accessory platform 2121 within the single circular hole 2121. Each active accessory may include an active mechanism 2123 extending from the top and/or bottom of the accessory platform to enable activities to be performed by the rider of the modular active deck 2100 when the active accessory is secured to the deck 2102 .

An example of a movable accessory of the set of movable accessories may include a set of balance ends 2120 . In this example, the set of balanced ends 2120 also form an accessory platform for the movable accessory. The set of balancing ends 2120 may be disposed within the apertures of the first movable fitting receiver 2116 and the apertures of the second movable fitting receiver 2118 . The locking mechanism described below can be configured to lock the set of balancing ends 2120 in a desired non-rotational orientation such that the roller stops 2122 of the set of balancing ends 2120 are oriented as shown in FIGS. 21 and 22 . In this example, the moving mechanism may be a set of roller roller stops 2122. The roller stops 2122 may be configured to balance the deck 2102 on the rollers 2124 so as not to fall off the rollers 2124 .

Modular movable deck 2100 having the configuration shown in FIGS. 21 and 22 may be constructed to facilitate balancing of deck 2102 on rollers 2124.

23 is an illustration of a modular movable panel 2300 having one or more features consistent with the disclosed subject matter. FIG. 24 shows an exploded view of the modular movable panel 2300 of FIG. 23 . The illustrated example of an activity accessory in the set of activity accessories is the bouncing ball activity accessory 2304 . The modular activity board 2300 shown in FIGS. 23 and 24 may be configured to facilitate bouncing or balancing on the board by a user of the modular activity board 2300 through the use of the bouncing ball activity accessory 2304 . Modular activity board 2300 may be configured to balance and/or bounce on bouncing ball 2302. The bouncing ball 2302 may be formed from a rubbery polymer, PVC, vinyl, or the like.

The first activity accessory receiver 2116 and the second activity accessory receiver 2118 may be configured to receive the bouncing ball activity accessory 2304 . The motion mechanism of the bouncing ball activity accessory 2304 may include a bouncing ball 2302 extending from the accessory platform. The illustrated example of an accessory platform is the bouncing ball accessory platform 2306. The bouncing ball accessory platform 2306 may be configured to engage with the first movable accessory receiver 2116 and/or the second movable accessory receiver 2118 of the deck 2102 . The bouncing ball attachment platform 2306 may be configured to engage the top of the bouncing ball 2302 to securely attach the bouncing ball 2302 to the deck 2102. The bouncing ball attachment platform 2306 may be configured to receive a foot strap 2308 . The foot straps 2308 may be configured to receive a user's foot for bouncing on the deck 2102 while still keeping the user engaged with the deck 2102.

Modular activity board 2300 may be configured with two bouncing balls 2302 , one on either end of deck 2102 .

25 is an illustration of a modular movable panel 2500 in which the movable fitting is a pivot wheel fitting 2502 having one or more features consistent with the presently disclosed subject matter. FIG. 26 shows an exploded view of the modular movable panel 2500 of FIG. 25 . The movement mechanism of pivot wheel assembly 2502 may include pivot wheel 2503 and pivot assembly 2504 . The pivot assembly 2504 may be configured to facilitate pivoting of the pivot wheel 2503 about an axis 2506 extending perpendicular to the deck 2102 .

Pivot assembly 2504 may be attached to accessory platform 2508 . The accessory platform 2508 may be configured to engage with one of the first movable accessory receiver 2116 or the second movable accessory receiver 2118 of the deck 2102 . In some variations, the accessory platform 2508 may be configured to be secured in a non-rotated position relative to the first movable accessory receiver 2116 or the second movable accessory receiver 2118 of the deck 2102 . In other variations, the accessory platform 2508 may be configured to be fixed in a rotational position relative to the first movable accessory receiver 2116 or the second movable accessory receiver 2118 of the deck 2102 .

The pivot assembly 2504 may be secured to the accessory platform 2508 using fasteners, connectors, or some other attachment mechanism.

27 is an illustration of a modular activity board 2700 having one or more features consistent with the presently disclosed subject matter, having a movable accessory of a set of movable accessories, the set of movable accessories being a set of scooter accessories. FIG. 28 shows an exploded view of the modular movable panel 2700 of FIG. 27 . The set of scooter accessories may include a scooter handle 2702 , a front scooter wheel system 2704 and a rear scooter wheel assembly 2706 . The accessory platforms for the set of scooter accessories may include a front scooter accessory platform 2712 and a rear scooter accessory platform 2714.

The scooter handle may include a steering engagement portion 2708. Steering engagement portion 2708 may be configured to engage with scooter handle engagement portion 2710 of front scooter wheel system 2704. Front scooter wheel system 2704 may be configured to engage with front scooter accessory platform 2712. Front scooter accessory platform 2712 may be configured to secure front scooter wheel system 2704 to deck 2102 . Front scooter accessory platform 2712 may be configured to secure front scooter wheel system 2704 to deck 2102 in a non-rotating configuration. Front scooter accessory platform 2712 may include a scooter handle engagement portion 2710 . Front scooter accessory platform 2712 may be configured to facilitate rotation of steering mechanism 2704 via handle 2702.

In some variations, handle 2702 can be removed from its housing. Although the handle 2702 is shown for use with a set of scooter accessories, the presently described subject matter contemplates that the handle 2702 may be used with other active accessories. For example, handle 2702 can be used with a set of skateboard accessories, as shown in FIGS. 29 and 30 . The handle 2702 may be secured to the accessory platform 2906 of the modular activity board 2900. The accessory platform 2906 may include a handle engagement portion 2710 for engagement with the engagement portion 2708 of the handle 2702. In some variations, the handle may facilitate steering of the skateboard wheels. In some variations, handle 2702 may be a fixed handle for stability.

The rear scooter wheel assembly 2706 may be configured to engage with the rear accessory scooter platform 2714 . The rear scooter accessory platform 2714 may be configured to secure the rear scooter wheel assembly 2706 to the deck 2102 . In some variations, the rear scooter accessory platform 2714 may be configured to inhibit lateral rotation of the wheels relative to the deck 2102 . In other variations, the rear scooter accessory platform 2714 may be configured to facilitate lateral rotation of the rear wheel 2706 relative to the deck 2102 . The rear scooter wheel assembly 2706 may include a brake 2716 . The brake 2716 may be configured to allow a user to depress the brake 2716 so that the brake 2716 contacts the rear wheel 2718 .

In some variations, the scooter handle 2702 may be retractable. In some variations, rear scooter wheel assembly 2706 may have one or more features of pivot wheel assembly 2502 . In this configuration, the modular movable panel 2700 may facilitate drifting.

The wheels shown in the figures may be formed from one or more of polymers, polyurethane, and the like. Wheels can be of various thicknesses, hardness levels, and the like.

FIG. 29 is an illustration of a modular activity board 2900 having one or more features consistent with the presently disclosed subject matter, having a movable accessory of a set of movable accessories, the set of movable accessories being a set of skateboard accessories 2902 . FIG. 30 shows an exploded view of the modular movable panel 2900 of FIG. 29 . The set of skateboard accessories 2902 may include a skateboard bracket 2904 . The accessory platform may include a skateboard accessory platform 2906. Bracket 2904 may be secured to skateboard accessory platform 2906. The skateboard accessory platform 2906 may be configured to install a set of skateboard accessories 2902 into the deck 2102 at the first movable accessory receiver 2116 and the second movable accessory receiver 2118 . The skateboard accessory platform 2906 may be configured to inhibit rotation of the skateboard accessory platform 2906 within the first live accessory receiver 2116 and the second live accessory receiver 2118 .

In some variations, fasteners 2908 may be used to attach skateboard bracket 2904 to skateboard accessory platform 2906. In some variations, skateboard accessory platform 2906 may be the same as wheel accessory platform 2508 shown in FIGS. 25 and 26 , accessory platform 2306 shown in FIGS. 23 and 24 , and/or accessory platform 2120 shown in FIGS. 21 and 22 . The same accessory platform. The accessory platform shown in those figures may essentially comprise a tray with a locking mechanism complementary to the locking mechanism in the first accessory receiver and/or the second accessory receiver.

In some variations, the resistance band may be attached to deck 2102 or to any movable accessory described herein attached to deck 2102 . The resistance band can be held by the user of the modular activity board and facilitates keeping the deck surface 2102 engaged with the user's foot while the user is using the modular activity board.

31 is an illustration of a movable accessory locking mechanism 3100 embodying one or more features of the presently disclosed subject matter. FIG. 32 shows an exploded view of the movable accessory locking mechanism 3100 shown in FIG. 31 . FIG. 33 shows an alternative exploded view of the movable accessory locking mechanism 3100 shown in FIG. 31 . The locking mechanism 3100 may be configured to secure the accessory platform 3102 into the deck 2102 of the modular movable panel. The accessory platform 3102 may include a locking mechanism recess 3104 configured to receive the locking mechanism 3100 . The locking mechanism 3100 may include a coupling mechanism 3106 . The coupling mechanism 3106 may include one or more resilient spring portions 3108 . The resilient spring portion 3108 may be configured to engage the recess 3104 in the accessory platform 3102. The spring portion 3108 can be engaged in response to the user moving the coupling mechanism 3106 inwardly toward the center of the accessory platform 3102 .

The coupling mechanism 3106 may include a flange 3110 . The flange 3110 may be configured to engage with complementary holes in the first loose fitting receiver 2116 and/or the second loose fitting receiver 2118 . The coupling mechanism 3106 may be secured to the accessory platform 3102 by the coupling mechanism cover 3112 . The coupling mechanism cover 3112 may be secured by one or more fasteners 3114.

In some variations, accessory locking mechanism 3100 may have one or more features of locking mechanism 206 shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 .

Claims (11)

1. The mobility system of claim 5, wherein the accessory platform includes a perimeter having threads along at least a portion of the perimeter, the threads of the accessory platform being configured to mate with the single The threads of the circular holes are complementary. 7. The activity system of claim 1, wherein the second locking mechanism is configured to respond to the accessory platform being placed into the first or second movable accessory receiver of the engages the first locking mechanism in a single circular hole. 8.
