Abstract

A fitment (6) for a liquid containing pouch (20) wherein the fitment is attached to the top of the pouch by sealing the top of the pouch together and to the sealed portion of the fitment. The fitment has a straw (7) therein and a removable cap (8) to seal the liquid within the pouch. The cap is removable to allow access to the straw and access to the liquid in the bag. The cap can be replaced on the fitment to reseal the bag. Since the straw is already in the fitment, it is easier to use than those liquid containing pouches in which the straw must be inserted into the pouch by breaking the seal. In addition, the straw within the fitment helps prevent spillage of the liquid and injury associated with the straw having to break the seal of the pouch.
