Description
Etai.
Prop. We know of props which are used in particular in reinforced concrete work to support formwork for floors, balconies or, in general, all constructions which occupy a certain area and which must be carried for as long as possible. that the cement has not yet set. These props comprise two or more pipes which are introduced telescopically Pun into the other and the length of the forestay is regulated by a pin penetrating into holes drilled at a certain distance from each other at a distance. diameter of the internal pipe (s).
A dowel is inserted into these holes which rests on an adjusting nut which can be moved along the outer pipe.
The adjusting nut is needed to make lengths which are not an exact multiple of the hole distance. The thread on which this nut runs is, by the very nature of the use of the forestay, subjected to accidental fatigue liable to damage it, so that the adjustment subsequently becomes always more laborious to as the forestay ages.
The object of the present invention is a prop of the aforementioned type, but in which means have been provided for preventing accidental damage to the thread and the disadvantages which result therefrom. The prop according to the present invention is characterized in that its nut is extended along #u screw thread by protective sleeves which hide the latter. In a preferred model, the upper sleeve has a flange which limits an opening whose diameter is equal to that of the inner pipe. This gives a wider base for the ankle passing through said pipe.
The appended drawing represents, by by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention in axial section.
The outer pipe a has a b foot and is threaded at c over a length greater than that of the distance of the holes d of the inner pipe e . On this thread c moves a nut f which can be turned by means of a handle g articulated in h. This nut f is extended upwards by a sleeve i and downwards by a so-called k. These sleeves move with the nut and are long enough so that, when the nut is at the top of the thread c, the sleeve k still covers the bottom of the thread. When the nut is in this location, the sleeve i hides the top of the thread.
This sleeve i has a rim 1 which limits a round opening of diameter equal to that of the pipe e. In this way, a wider base is obtained for the ankle, nor is it inserted into the holes in the inner tube for the coarse adjustment of the total length of the forestay.
