Abstract
Educational tool for learning snowboarding. It is a curved pole with an ergonomic shape allowing the surfer to hold it by its two ends with both hands while exerting pressure on the hips and lower back. It consists of a stick, normally tubular in shape, in metal, plastic or other kind of alloy, curved so as to follow the contour of the lower back and provided with a handle at each end (with or without a strap) can be of different material or sculpted to make the grip comfortable. A cushion can be added to add to the comfort as well as a fastening system with a belt to keep it in place when not held manually by both ends.
Description
Tuesday, January 12, 2010 Invention: "Top Rider Guide"
By: Alain Robert Description The present invention is used as a teaching aid in surfing learning Snow. The "Top Rider Guide" serves to maintain the position and balance, as that taught by Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (ACMS) throughout of the progression of learning this sport.
We know that the first skill to be acquired to promote good progression in learning snowboarding is the basic position as taught by I'ACMS. We know on the other hand that the fear of falling and the natural need to want to look down the slope causes the surfer to bend the body forward at the hips and to rotate upper body (called counter-rotation). Moreover, this bad posture normally tends to move the surfer's weight to his back leg.
The present invention forces the surfer to straighten up and keep the shoulders in the same axis that his snowboard if he wants to be comfortable with the didactic tool.
In this way, the surfer will FEEL what he needs to do to have an ideal position and thus, continue his learning with faster and more enjoyable progression. Limiting movements upper body and keep the hips and shoulders in the good plans will promote conducted by the lower limbs, as shown in Annex 1. The "Top Rider Guide "is primarily aimed at the intermediate level surfer and should be used under the supervision of a qualified instructor.
