by CHINONYEREM ODIMBA
inspired by LEWIS CARROLL
directed by MATT HASSALL
featuring the OT YOUNG COMPANY
What makes you think that change is such a bad thing?
Alice doesn’t belong. Nobody notices her. So why shouldn’t she do something reckless? Like following a white rabbit – like slipping into a world where time bends, riddles multiply, and everyone demands to know who she is.
In Chinonyerem Odimba’s dazzling new version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll’s classic is reborn, taking the audience through the looking glass and reimagining a timeless world of curiosity, chaos, and croquet.
But at the centre of it all is Alice: curious, brave, and desperate for something more.
Playwright and poet Chinonyerem Odimba (Princess & The Hustler, The Bird Woman of Lewisham) brings her trademark lyricism, political sharpness and vibrant theatricality to a story of girlhood, identity, and the search for belonging, directed by Matt Hassall.
Following last year’s sell-out production of Treasure Island, the OT Young Company returns with the biggest show of the OT’s year.
With special thanks to the 29th May 1961 Charitable Trust, Barbara Whatmore Charitable Trust, and Noël Coward Foundation for their generous support for the OT Young Company.
“A company of polished actors across the board, full of exuberance, pace, mischief and fun. It is an extraordinary achievement.” The Guardian on Treasure Island
“The fantasy world of rabbit holes and mad hatters, magic cakes and secret doors, has charmed children and adults the world over.” Daily Telegraph
