Helen “Lee” Lugossy, the wife of former Mercer County Sheriff Gil Lugossy, died on October 8.  She was 80.

Rudolph Girandola, a former Trenton Times reporter, died on October 9.  He was 93.

Samuel DeSimone, who served as a Superior Court Judge from 1975 until his retirement in 2000, died on October 10.  He was 88.  A Korean War veteran, DeSimone served as an Assistant
Gloucester County Prosecutor, and served numerous planning, zoning and school boards as a solicitor.

Jack Draijer, who worked as the gardener at Drumthwacket, died on October 6.  He was 87.

Janet Rossell, a former Mayor of Lumberton, died on October 1.  She was 66. 

Joyce Kanigel, a former Rockaway Borough Councilwoman, died on September 30.  She was 65.

John Czarnecki, a former Mayor of South Hackensack, died on October 7.  He was 66.  A U.S. Army veteran, Czarnecki served as Republican County Committeeman and as a member of the Musicians Union Local 16-248.

James Vena, an Aberdeen Fire Commissioner, died on October 3.  He was 80.  Vena served as a U.S. Air Force paratrooper.  He was the Aberdeen Fire Chief from 1966 to 1969.

Virginia Bunton, the receptionist in the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office for 35 years, died on October 9.  She was 88.

Marilyn Allerton, who served as the Neptune City Municipal Court administrator for 25 years before her retirement in 2014, died on October 10. She was 83.
