Astronaut Captures Breathtaking Images of an Aurora From the International Space Station

Throughout the years, NASA astronauts have captured amazing shots from the International Space Station (ISS). For example, Don Pettit wowed us with his shots of comets, auroras, and cities from above before his return to Earth. Now, another astronaut seems to have followed his lead. Kimiya Yui, from Japan’s national space agency JAXA, has been posting top-notch astrophotography to social media.

NASA’s Solar Probe Captures the Highest Resolution Photo of the Sun Ever

The Solar Orbiter, an international collaboration between NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) launched in February 2020. Since then, it has acquired data that helps astronomers better understand the volatile solar surface and predict solar storms. Aided by its 10 state-of-the-art instruments, it is the most complex scientific laboratory sent by humankind to our nearest star.
