Trove of Incredibly Well-Preserved Fossils Found in Australian Red Rocks

In New South Wales, Australia, a natural wonder hides beneath farmland in a place called McGraths Flat. A trove of fossils were discovered there, including a recent number of soft tissue fossils preserved in peculiar goethite rocks. The McGraths Flat dates back to the Miocene epoch, a time period in which a large portion of plants and animals that roam Earth to this day evolved.

Researchers Discover 300,000-Year-Old Human Footprints Offering Insight Into Early Human History

A team of archaeologists have recently uncovered 300,000-year-old footprints in what is now known as Schöningen, in Lower Saxony. These footprints are now the oldest to be discovered in Germany, and provide more insight into mankind’s evolution and beginnings. The researchers responsible for this discovery published their findings in a study for Quartenary Science Reviews.
