Kermit the Frog explains that Gordon has asked him to say a word or two on behalf of the letter W.

As he lists some words it's used to start — wash, woman, and weeping willow — Cookie Monster has appeared and eaten away part of the structure to form the letter N. It's used for words such as nice, nifty, and nincompoop. Kermit notices Cookie Monster this time and sees that he's eaten away enough to form a letter V for victory and very confused.

Cookie eats away some more forming what Kermit decides could either be a tilted I or the number 1. Noting that some people will eat anything, Kermit concludes his talk just as Cookie begins nibbling on his frog's legs. To get away, Kermit claims to hear his mother calling him.

In the second part, Kermit appears with another W in an attempt to talk again about that particular letter.

This time, the W is animate and mimics the words Kermit lists that start with the letter, such as wiggle, wobble, walk, and wander. As it gets more aggressive, Kermit's W words shift to examples such as watch it, wrestle, whack, warning, war, winning, and weakening. Each word is acted out by the W, culminating in Kermit's defeat as he declares, "woe is me." The W does a victory dance on Kermit's head as he pouts, "wow."
