It takes some time to get him to realize it's there, but soon Forgetful remembers exactly why he has it. He explains that to combat his poor memory, he intends to write things down on the balloon. But, when he tries to demonstrate, his pencil pops the balloon. Maria tells him it's more sensible to write things down on something that won't burst, like the notecards she's using for her errands. She borrows Forgetful's pencil to add something to her list and gives Forgetful a notecard he can use too. Forgetful tells her one thing she needs to remember - to return his pencil. |
