SCENE 1 | Olivia finds Big Bird pacing by the pay phone. He admits that he's supposed to have lunch at Mr. Snuffleupagus' place, but dreads having to eat cabbage again and doesn't know if he can bring himself to tell Snuffy this. He makes Olivia pretend to be Snuffy and practices what he'll say. He instead makes an excuse for not showing up (getting out of his nest, falling down and breaking his beak, and going to the hospital) which Olivia points out is lying. Big Bird finds the courage to speak honestly and calls up the Snuffleupagus residence. Instead, Snuffy's mommy answers and tells Big Bird that her son is busy taking a bath. Olivia promises to wait with Big Bird and call back later, though she still finds the situation ridiculous. (“What we won’t go through for imaginary friends…”) |

SCENE 4 | Big Bird finds Snuffy and Slimey wanting to play together, but they have a problem - they can't find an activity they both can do. Snuffy wants to go bowling with Slimey, and Slimey wants to share his skateboard with Snuffy, but they all realize that neither activity will be possible because of the size differences in each other and their equipment. Snuffy feels like he and Slimey can’t be friends because of their respective sizes, but Big Bird points out that size doesn’t matter in a friendship. He recommends other activities, including listening to a mystery story (which interests Slimey, but not Snuffy), or telling jokes (which interests Snuffy, but not Slimey). |

SCENE 4 cont'd | Snuffy gets so tired from thinking of ideas that he falls asleep, as does Slimey; Big Bird wakes them up to point out that they're now doing the same thing. Having their naptime interrupted makes both Slimey and Snuffy angry… which Big Bird acknowledges is another thing they can do together, which makes Snuffy and Slimey happy. Maria and Olivia announce the sponsors. |
