1.3 is the first and only pre-release for Java Edition 1.3.1, released on July 26, 2012.[1]

Unlike most versions, which have such content automatically stripped out, this version contains unused (but obfuscated) code for many unimplemented features, such as a biome previewer, prototype villages, and content relating to unimplemented entities and some aspects of world generation.

Heads-up display

Superflat

  • Respawning in superflat is no longer random.

Fixes

5 bugs fixed

  • Fixed melon stem block misalignment.
  • Fixed a crash bug.
  • Fixed the chest armor slot being inaccessible in Creative mode's survival inventory tab.
  • Fixed rotated wooden logs mined using Silk Touch enchanted tools dropping as rotated wooden logs.
  • Fixed being unable to place slabs in the small gaps between another slab and the side of another block.
