Woman in footage has been charged, blurred set of grabs from video issued as alternative to un-blurred version* Disturbing footage shows a knife-wielding woman wildly swinging a blade while trying to slash a man in the street - before he fended her off with his rucksack. The shocking confrontation was captured on camera in the Sparkhill area of Birmingham after a disturbance between the pair broke out on Friday night (18/7). The woman can be heard racially abusing the Asian male while brandishing a large blade outside a terraced house. The man then picks up a piece of cardboard and begins to strike her with it before she then chases him down the street with the knife. The two can be heard trading insults , calling each other fat, before the woman begins slashing at him with the blade in the middle of the residential street. Photo released 20/07/2025

Conrad Byrd. A man has been jailed after we seized almost ??4 million worth of drugs. Release date ??? June 20, 2025. Conrad Byrd was arrested on 14 March this year, after he was stopped by officers from our Traffic team in Kenilworth Road, Balsall Common. Following searches of his vehicle, officers found over 25 kilos of cocaine, with a street value of approximately ??3,800,000. As a result of the drugs being found, further searches were carried out at his home address in Sidcup, Bexley, where further kilos of drugs were found along with cash. Byrd was arrested for conspiring to supply Class A drugs. The 50-year-old admitted that over a three-month period, he conducted multiple trips between the West Midlands and London in order to courier Class A Drugs for an Organised Crime Group. After pleading guilty at Birmingham Crown Court, Byrd was jailed last Friday (13 June) for 13 years and six months.

Steph Washington, 38, was left in constant pain with 'classic' cervical cancer symptoms - but was was never offered a smear test and was "repeatedly failed" by the NHS and her GP surgery.She was forced to agonisingly wait more than 12 months for her diagnosis following eight appointments with her doctor and multiple emergency hospital visits.Steph said numerous medical specialists failed to ensure appropriate examinations and tests were carried out to rule out any serious condition back in 2022.

A couple who were ringleaders of a drugs gang selling millions of fake Xanax pills around the world have been jailed for a total of ten years. Brian Pitts, 30, and Katie Harlow, 27, ran an international criminal empire from a luxury villa in Thailand between 2018 and 2019. Up to 11 million counterfeit pills were produced in sheds and garages across the West Midlands before being sold on the dark web via cryptocurrency payments. The gang included family members and friends who sold more ?4 million worth of fake pills across the UK and USA and laundered the profits through bitcoin. The pair were finally caught after a five-year international investigation led by pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Ltd. They were arrested when they returned from Thailand in August 2019 with designer clothes and Rolex watches in their luggage. A court heard while the gang made at least ?4 million they could have made more than ?11 million from their illegal operation.
