An announcement Monday (21 Nov) said the system has enough electricity to power around 300,000 UK homes for two hours - and has been "energised" in time for winter. Commenting on Twitter, Elon Musk wrote: "Tesla Megapacks are highly effective in addressing electricity demand spikes that cause power outages." Developed by Harmony Energy Limited, and employing a Tesla 2-hour Megapack system, the Pillswood project, near Hull, has the capacity to store up to 196 MWh (megawatt hours) of electricity in a single cycle.
