Play Video FILE PICTURE - CCTV dated August 19, 2024, of a crash on the junction in Cheadle, Staffs. // Britain's most dangerous junction is finally being revamped after 13 terrifying crashes were caught on camera in just six weeks. Shocking CCTV footage captured cars flipping over and lorries ploughing into vehicles as they ignored give way signs. Draycott Cross Road junction in Cheadle, Staffs., was dubbed ?Britain?s most dangerous crossroads?. The cost of the damage came to around ?200,000 and local residents feared the next crash could be fatal. Following a public appeal, Staffordshire County Council agreed to spend ?25,000 on a raft of road safety improvements. The old give way sign will be replaced with a permanent stop sign and the faded road markings will be re-painted. Since a temporary stop sign was installed six months ago, there have been no major collisions, according to councillor Gary Bentley. Photo released 19/11/2025
