The woman who was aged in her 30s and named locally as Danni was pulled lifeless from the water after being caught out by the strong current at Waxham, Norfolk. Members of the public tried in vain to resuscitate her before paramedics took over, but she was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. The tragedy happened at about 5.30pm on Sunday when the beach was still packed with sunseekers. The beach and nearby Sea Palling are notorious for having dangerous riptides which can sweep away unsuspecting swimmers. Sources suggested that the woman had leapt in to the water to help her son and his friend who were in difficulty in a sea kayak. Emergency services including Coastguard teams, ambulances, local paramedics and a rescue helicopter were sent to the scene after HM Coastguard received ???multiple calls??? about several people in the water who needed rescuing The woman was pulled lifeless from the sea and the boys in the kayak were brought safely back to shore by other holidaymakers who were described as ???heroes??? by witnesses The woman and her family are believed to have been staying on a local campsite next to the beach as temperatures soared over the weekend. One witness posted on Facebook that the woman???s son had been let ???utterly devastated???. The woman posted: ???I saw them having fun on the kayak and then saw them get in trouble so called the coastguard. ???Two heroes went in and saved the boys, but she also went in and was bought by someone called Finn with a surfboard. Absolute hero! ???Two ladies were there also and they all started giving CPR with a coastguard. Then the paramedics took over for about an hour.??? The woman said she and another beach-goer cuddled the boys and other girls from the same group on the beach ???for what seemed like an eternity.??? She added: ???Poor lads were watching the whole thing and will be traumatised for life. I???m utterly devastated for them all and want to help as much as I can. ???I never thought I???d see anything like that. Saw it from beginning to end. My friend who is a strong swimmer was in the EXACT same spot and managed to get out because she is a super strong swimmer.??? A Norfolk Police spokesperson said: ???Investigations are continuing after a woman died after getting into difficulties at Waxham on Sunday. ???Emergency services were called at around 5:30pm following reports of a woman struggling while in the sea.??? Superintendent Jason Broome from Norfolk Police said: "Colleagues from Norfolk Coastguard and the East of England Ambulance Service assisted officers with the incident. "A woman, aged in her 30s, was recovered from the water and she was sadly pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. Her death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious. "While enquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances leading up to the woman???s death, this is a tragic situation and our condolences are with her family." A spokesman for HM Coastguard said: ???We received multiple 999 calls just after 5pm reporting multiple persons in the water at Waxham. ???We tasked Sea Palling independent lifeboat and Bacton and Winterton coastguard teams and the rescue helicopter from Humberside to the scene. ???All persons were recovered from the water.??? Ambulance first responders from the Stalham and Smallburg group trained by the East of England Ambulance Service who were on patrol in the area, reached the scene within a minute of being alerted. The tragedy came just a day after a man aged in his 20s drowned while swimming in a water-filled quarry at Bawsey Country Park, near King???s Lynn, Norfolk. The alarm was at around 11.30am on Saturday after he was seen ???getting into difficulty??? in the water. Four crews of firefighters used two rigid inflatable boats and a drone to search for the man before his body was recovered on Saturday afternoon. ends

Koh Andet, Cambodia, July 21, 2020 (Pictures)??????????????A six-year-old boy was stung to death by hundreds of wasps while helping his grandmother in the garden. Mon Kakada was being cared for by his relative Jen Oeun, 62, while she pruned trees at the back of her house in Poun Village, Koh Andet district, Cambodia. The old woman began cutting branches when she accidentally disturbed a banded hornet's nest on July 21 morning. Horrified neighbours heard the boy screaming as the deadly creatures swarmed around him, plunging their venomous barbs into his body. Residents rushed to help the pair but the boy died only a few minutes later while he was being carried away by his grandmother. She was also stung several times while batting away the wasps and was taken to hospital in nearby Kirivong district. Police said that the grandmother suffered from a loss of vision following the hornet attack and was being kept in the ward. The boy's funeral was held at the family's wooden home. Pictures show how his torso was covered in stings.
