The first TRAVELLER to win a place at Cambridge University who grew up working with a fair has amazed her family by gaining a FIRST in her final exams. Zoah Hedges-Stocks, who was born into a family of travelling showmen who have been working the fairgrounds since the early 1800s, is graduating from the prestigious university this week. The 23-year-old, who never completed a full school year and grew up in a caravan, spent every summer term working on her mum's food van selling burgers, toffee apples and candy floss to fairgoers. She would also work at Cambridge University's prestigious May Balls and dream of one day studying there. Now amazingly she will be graduating from the world-renowned university on Saturday (June 29) with a First in History, after studying for three years at Murray Edwards College. A woman holding her head in her hands as mental illness has become the drug industry's golden goose, a GP claimed as he cautioned against over-use of antidepressants. PICTURE POSED BY MODEL. File photo dated 08/11/07. PRESS ASSOCIATION Photo. Picture date: Wednesday January 23, 2013. Des Spence said the medication was prescribed 'too easily' for too long and may have no benefit at all. And he argued that the current definition of clinical depression - two weeks of low mood, even after bereavement - was too loose and led to 'widespread medicalisation'. According to recent research, 75% of those who write such definitions have links with drug companies, he said. See PA story HEALTH Antidepressants. Photo credit should read: David Cheskin/PA Wire

BNPS.co.uk (01202) 558833 Picture: Peter Willows The house on Banks Road, Poole, Dorset. This run-down house in desperate need of repair has sold for nearly £3.5million to set a record for the millionaire's resort of Sandbanks. The price paid for the shabby home on the sandy peninsular in Poole, Dorset, equates to £1,725 per square foot. But the unnamed couple who have bought the pile are more interested in the two-way views of picturesque Poole Harbour from the front and the sea to the rear. The property is one of the last of its type on the exclusive peninsula that has yet to be bought up and developed. Sandbanks is rated at the fifth most expensive location in the world to buy property, with only Manhatten, Tokyo, Hong Kong and London ahead of it. Estate agents have described the deal as a 'sensible price'.
