The scene of the crash near Buckland St Mary, Somerset, August 13 2021 . See SWNS story SWBRplane. Two people have died after a light aircraft crashed into farmland today (Fri). The man and a woman were the only people on board the aircraft, which crashed into a field near the village of Buckland St Mary, Somerset, shortly before 10.30am. Emergency services attended the scene, but sadly there were no survivors from on board the plane. Formal identification has yet to take place, but the next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
