Highways officials have unveil a robot dog working on motorways and roadsides - and claim it will help end traffic jams. The canine - called Spot - is being tested on the M5 in Somerset where is is assessing embankments, roads and bridges.Spot is being used to monitor and manage road repairs and can reach areas which are harder for humans to access.It will retrieve data collected to help future operations and repairs - and ''reduce the need for costly and disruptive traffic management''.

Shannon Grant, 27, murdered Natasha Morais, 40, in her flat before stealing her phone. Posing as Natasha, he texted her mum asking for ??2,000 claiming it was to pay a fine. Her family became suspicious and went to her flat in Loughland Close, Whetstone, Leics., at 8.40pm on June 22 last year.

Kaden Taylor and Safiyyah Uddin are now able to perform everyday tasks with their specially designed, 3D-printed prosthetics, designed to emulate their favourite superheroes. The custom-made Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey Spider-Man bionic arms - developed by robotics company Open Bionics -, feature myoelectric sensors which detect muscular contractions generated from muscle groups in the arm. Safiyyah, from East London, had always longed to become more independent and perform activities with both hands.
