Dr Fischer said the 'stress' of politics has caused signs of ageing in Elon Musk

Elon Musk showed signs of ‘rapid ageing’ during a podcast appearance on Friday, a top doctor has warned.

The billionaire X owner, 54, appeared somewhat tired and drained during a three-hour session on the Joe Rogan Experience yesterday.

Dr Stuart Fischer, a New York-based doctor, said: ‘Even at the Republican National Convention in July 2024, he was fresher-faced compared to now.

‘The exposure, the stress, and the controversy appear to have aged him physically and emotionally.’

While rapid ageing doesn’t just show on the face, ‘it puts you at risk of heart attacks and strokes’, said Dr Fischer.

‘Being stressed all the time floods the body with cortisol and adrenaline, which accelerates wear and tear on the heart and makes blood clots more likely.

‘Chronic stress also reduces nutrient absorption, so essential vitamins and antioxidants aren’t used effectively, causing the rusting of cells.

‘Poor sleep and eating poorly when you’re stressed only make it worse.’

High levels of stress hormones break down collagen, the protein that gives skin its firmness, elasticity and smooth texture, which can lead to skin becoming dull, saggy and loose.

It can also cause dark circles to appear and wrinkles to form faster.

Being stressed also makes it more difficult to sleep, snowballing the effects of faster ageing, and can take a toll on the brain.

Dr Fischer told the Daily Mail: ‘It’s the stress. I don’t think he was ready for the overwhelming stress of winding up in the middle of international politics over the past few years.’

‘Even local politics is stressful enough but the divisiveness on the national and international level is different.

‘People who used to love him are now deeply upset with him, it’s very draining, and he’s got his companies to run at the same time.’

As well as owning X, Musk is the CEO of the electric car company Tesla.

And after US President Donald Trump returned to the White House in January this year, he appointed Musk to lead the newly-established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) – an initiative aimed at slashing federal agencies.

But in May the billionaire announced he would step away from the department after falling out with the president.

Despite joining forces with Trump at the beginning of his second term, Musk was once seen by the Left as a visionary of clean energy and in 2020voted for Joe Biden.

But his politics shifted radically after acquiring Twitter in 2022, which he rebranded as ‘X’.

By mid‑2024 much of his posts on the platform focused on conservative causes.

He has also used X to comment on British politics.

Earlier this week Musk said civil war had ‘already begun’ in Britain and showed support for the far-right agitator Tommy Robinson.

He said: ‘It is time for the English to ally with the hard men, like Tommy Robinson, and fight for their survival or they shall surely all die.’

Baltimore County leaders are now calling for a review of that system. During the footage from Monday's incident, officers are seen approaching the student, searching him, and then stunned when they themselves realize what A.I. flagged as a gun was just a bag of Doritos chips. With guns drawn, Baltimore County Police surrounded a group of students after the Omnilert AI Gun Detection System warned school leaders that a student had a gun. Body camera footage shows police detaining all of those students and then searching one of them.
