“To see what these children have been through, their faces been burned, losing their hands, their arms, their parents, their whole family, but still showing resilience and still looking to the future, trying to get back to school, underlines what our responsibility as international community is. We have to end for once and all this decade long conflict and lasting peace will never be ensured by war, by terrorism, occupation, but only by a stable peace agreement, leading to two states, leading to an independent state of Palestine, where future generation can live in dignity as well.”
6. Various shots, general views of al-Thumama Complex
President of the General Assembly Annalena Baerbock visited the al-Thumama Complex in Doha, Qatar. The complex was developed for the FIFA World Cup 2022 but now is hosting Palestinian refugees. She spoke with children many of whom are orphans, women undergoing vocational training, and those seriously injured – who were evacuated from Gaza in the aftermath of the war in the Strip.
Baerbock said, "To see what these children have been through, their faces been burned, losing their hands, their arms, their parents, their whole family, but still showing resilience and still looking to the future, trying to get back to school, underlines what our responsibility as international community is."
