Review: Unfinished Sympathy (Absolution #1) by Amélie S. Duncan

Review: Unfinished Sympathy (Absolution #1) by Amélie S. Duncan UNFINISHED SYMPATHY (ABSOLUTION #1) Aubrey has a past she's ashamed of. It's why she dropped out of Juilliard before finishing, and now works as a sound engineer at a gaming company on a temporary contract. When she first sees the gorgeous guy on the subway reading, she's instantly attracted. But it's when he starts working with her on her new project that their attraction explodes. Unfortunately, there are many obstacles in their way, including Aubrey's perhaps too stubborn independence, her past, and Paul's tendency to take over. Will they ever be on the same page? There were parts of Unfinished Sympathy that I liked, but as a whole, it didn't really grab me. The chemistry between the two was flat, and they didn't make a very compelling couple. But really, the main problem I had with this story is Aubrey's character. She was a doormat, plain and simple. She allowed her sister to t...

Review/Release Promotion: Love Notes by L.K. Shaw

♦ ♦ ♦   There are only two things in this world I give a sh*t about. My beloved piano, and  the music I create with it. Except a year ago, the music in my head disappeared, and I now live in a world of silence.  Until my gaze lands on her.  I don’t know who she is, but the moment I lay eyes on her, a symphony begins to play and the melodies ricochet through my mind.  She’s my inspiration. My muse.  Mine to take. Mine to keep.  Forever. ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ Damien has lost his music. But when he sees gorgeous Avery, he becomes obsessed with his new muse. So much so that he kidnaps her and imprisons her in his mansion. He has to keep her there so she can keep inspiring him. But, will Avery grow to love what Damien does to her body (and her heart)? Love Notes was such a surprise to me! Surprise because I didn't see the twist coming and surprise because I ended up falling in love with Damien. Because this was a dar...

Review: Sheer by Sarah Robinson

We're finally getting Simone's story, and it's a doozy! Simone is the tattooed, passionate child in her family. She's been cast as the lead actress/singer in a new film and Grant has been hired as the composer. Their first meeting is just as dramatic as their soon to develop relationship - he saves her from a serious fall, but she's a little less than grateful when he opens his mouth and nothing but snark comes out. Of course that snark is just masking their huge attraction, and soon they're falling into a hot one night stand that will become a month-long tryst, then much, much more. But it won't be easy because Grant has baggage in the form of an ex-wife who took all his money, took his best friend, and has him literally on the run from the New Zealand authorities. And when Simone finds out he hasn't informed her of his baggage? Let's just say she doesn't handle it well. I've really liked this whole series, and am so glad it conclu...
