As a kid, I sang on my Dad's radio program in South Saint Paul, MN, and the song "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" was the one I remember most. After graduating from what is now North Central University, my dorm friend Dallas Holm did some ministry with Ira for a period of time, as I recall.

Lettie Cowman has inspired me ever since my huband was struck with West Nile Virus and we took care of him for 13 months on life support in our home with 24 hour nursing care. God took him home in 2015. All that time and until now, her books have kept me comforted, strengthened, and led by the Holy Spirit through my new season in life of widowhood. Every thing I read of her ministers to my soul. I thank God for making her and for her writing Streams on the Desert.

I am writing a book and pray that it will comfort women as much as Lettie Cowman has ministered to me.

We just watched a FoxNation episode on the Heinz Dynasty, and although they talked about his integrity in business & treating employees well, his faith was only mentioned after Sallie died. I found this article on a web search because I suspected that anyone who acts like this in business must be a Christian!

Hi, my name is Mark, I’m a born again Christian. A few days ago while sleeping, I was singing the hymnal “Hold fast till I come” I was actually singing all the verses of the song. This was very surprising to me because even though this song was sung in my former church while growing up, off memory I don’t remember the verses. However, I do know the chorus. I believe that this was the LORD’S way of reminding me of the times we are living in and also of HIS second coming. I am very grateful to the LORD for placing this song in my dream. It’s another way that GOD shows me how much HE loves me.
May JESUS the KING OF KINGS be blessed forever more!!!

Beautiful article . I am an inspirer of this artist touching work. I too have a lithograph of Jesus at the Heart Shaped Door. Some people just don’t get it. What a testimony,
HE is always welcomed. No need for a key.
I also have an unsigned painting of the Head of Christ on what appears to be panel or some hard medium, not canvas. Not sure of authenticity. Very old frame. Painting is held in place by horizontal thin nails to keep it from falling backwards. Real or not HE resembles peace in his eyes.

Thank you for writing this. I was searching for some information about Johnson Oatman Jr., and what prompted him to write such meaningful words. These days I am counting my blessings even more waiting for our blessed hope. I love how the saints before us shared their hearts, it is so meaningful to me more so now. BTW, Matt 5:16 is one of my favorites. 🙂
