NUBM44 laser suddenly stopped working – driver or diode failure? Fri, 19 Dec 2025 00:33:23 +0000 https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/nubm44-laser-suddenly-stopped-working-%E2%80%93-driver-or-diode-failure.112047/ 112047 invalid@example.com (Roger Andrade) Roger Andrade Hello everyone,

Some time ago I built a laser with the following setup:
  • Diode: NUBM44 (7W)
  • Driver: SXD 4.5A
  • Host: Survival Laser
  • Power: 2× 18650 Li-ion batteries

The laser worked fine for a while, but recently it suddenly stopped working. A friend helped me with the build and did all the soldering, since I don’t have much experience with electronics myself.

Is it possible that either the driver or the diode has failed?
Is there any safe way to test the diode directly...

My safety tailcap connector broke Thu, 18 Dec 2025 12:36:50 +0000 https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/my-safety-tailcap-connector-broke.112043/ 112043 invalid@example.com (BotoX) BotoX Hello guys

So my safety tail connector of my laserpointer broke. I'm talking about this thing:

1764711463862.jpeg

The model is:

PL-532F-300B

It's basically a 532nm 300mw laserpointer that I bought from laserbtb in 2016.
Can anyone tell me where I can find this thing in the pic? Without it, my laser is unusable...

Best regards!]]>

Does anyone know the schematic of a driver board ~16mm x 10mm with a LM358 I.C, a tact switch and a couple of transistors and few resistors supposed to drive a 1500mW violet, was inside a 14mm pointer tube ? No potentiometer trimmer. It is masked white, unable to follow its traces to draw its schematic.]]>

Osram now has NUBB, NUBE array format formerly known as QuaLas by Nichia but Osram calls them VegaLas.
I've attached the datasheet of both below.

I'm having a problem with both the internal and external threads on hollow aluminum tubes. I can't figure out which measurements to use for the internal ones and Which for the external ones, especially on the part that acts as a cap. For example :
If I have an aluminum tube that measures 4 cm from end to end, once the external thread is threaded, how do I screw on the other part,
The internal threaded cap?
That's all.

This is new to me so I'll probably need some help. I also ordered a compatible lens that mounts on the array and will probably have good focus at about 5-6 meters. In the future I will buy another one that can have a longer focus.. Everything will be in a box again. There will be cooling with a powerful fan and the array will be...

Review On Sunglad Lasers- 120W IR Lasers Sun, 30 Nov 2025 09:42:29 +0000 https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/review-on-sunglad-lasers-120w-ir-lasers.112016/ 112016 invalid@example.com (Beamlux) Beamlux I bought a 120-watt infrared laser from Sunglad Lasers. I'm confused: why is there a red dot when it's turned on? Aren't infrared lasers supposedly invisible to the naked eye? 😅 I tested it, and it quickly set cardboard boxes on fire. I pointed it at a cockroach in my house, and it quickly cooked. Very interesting; this shouldn't be considered animal cruelty, right? 😂]]> 4 Brand New Website & Black Friday Sale!!! Just amazing I've got more watts in a flashlight sized device than a 220 volt 10 amp Argon! (75mw 488nm)
A 2w+ meter would be nice. LOL! Or trade for???

Official specs of BDR-209 diode? Sun, 23 Nov 2025 04:17:22 +0000 https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/official-specs-of-bdr-209-diode.101094/ 101094 invalid@example.com (ixfd64) ixfd64 It's my understanding that the BDR-209 diodes are presently the most powerful single-mode 405 nm laser diodes available. But from what I could tell, the BDR-209 is technically the Blu-ray Disc drive marketed by Pioneer Corporation. I could barely find any official specs about the diode itself.

The fact that 405 nm lasers can go well over 1 W suggests that the nominal output of the BDR-209 diode is very high. However, most of the single-mode 405 nm diodes I could find are of low power, like...
