Former Bulldog Aaron Judge headed to World Series

CLEVELAND, OH (FOX26) — Aaron Judge, who starred at Fresno State from 2011 to 2013, will play in his first World Series.
Judge's New York Yankees clinched the American League pennant Saturday evening in Cleveland, defeating the Guardians in extra innings, 5-2.
Judge went 0-for-4with two strikeouts in the effort, but the former Bulldog hit two home runs and drove in six runs over the entire ALCS.
Entering his 8th full season in the Bronx, Judge reached the ALCS three times before, in 2017, 2019 and 2022, but he and the Yankees struggled to break through to the Fall Classic.
The Yankees' captain put together an MVP-caliber season in 2024 to give New York the No. 1 seed in the A.L. playoffs, something it didn't have the previous three ALCS trips.
His 58 home runs and 144 RBI led the Major Leagues, and Judge's .322 batting average ranked third in the A.L.
Judge is the second Fresno State alum to appear in the World Series over the last four years. Former Bulldog pitcher Dylan Lee started Game 4 in 2021.
The World Series will begin on Friday, Oct. 25 against either the Los Angeles Dodgers or the New York Mets.
