Welcome

Welcome, and thanks for visiting! I am a moral and political philosopher with research interests in animal ethics, the philosophy of food, liberal and libertarian political theory, and applied ethics. I am a Senior Lecturer in Political Philosophy in the Department of International Relations, Politics and History at Loughborough University, where I have been based since 2022. I have also worked at the University of Sheffield, the University of York, and Queen’s University in Canada, and was awarded a PhD in Philosophy from Queen’s University Belfast in 2016.

I have published two books, including 2023’s Food, Justice, and Animals from Oxford University Press, which was shortlisted for the Siobhan O’Sullivan Book Prize. I was the winner of the 2016 Res Publica postgraduate prize and the 2024 Britain and Ireland Association for Political Thought Early Career Prize. Major grants I’ve won include a 2019 British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship.
