Samples were 384 boys' students from grades 3 to 5 in Arak's elementary schools. From 1 and 2 districts of education office in Arak city 384 subjects from 3 to 5 grades selected cluster randomely and data were selected by "Perceived Physical Ability Scale for Children". Confirmatory factor analysis with principle components used to determine structure validity and Varimax Rotation for identifying factor structure. Bartle's test used for data sphercity and CMO for samples adequacy. Convergent validity and test-retest reliability calculated with Pearson Correlation Coefficient and internal reliability with Chronbach ' s alpha. The results of Confirmatory factor analysis with principal components and Varimax rotation for determining factor structure resulted in identifying only one factor extraction. Test-retest and internal reliabil...

It has been shown that children with learning disorders have different gross motor skills and physical activity compared to typically developing peers. Objectives: Since developmental domains interact with each other and children with learning disabilities often have difficulties that go far beyond those in school homework, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between physical activity and gross motor skills with social development for children with learning disabilities. Methods: In children with learning disorder (n = 82; 49 boys, 33 girls), gross motor skills and physical activity were assessed respectively with the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 and Past Year Physical Activity Questionnaire. Vineland Social Maturity Scale was used to evaluate the social development of participants. The Pearson correlation coefficient is used to association between variables. The si...

Methods ― Fifty-five male schizophrenic patients suffering from depression disorder aged 24 to 66 years were assigned to either a control group (n=10), cognitive rehabilitation group (n=10), exercise rehabilitation training group (n=13), transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) group (n=11) or multimodal intervention group (n=11). Gait was measured using a 10-meter gait speed test under normal, in dual-task cognitive-gait, and in dual task motor-gait conditions. Results ― Gait speed during the 10-meter walk test under normal conditions was significantly (P≤0.05) different from pre- to post-test in the exercise rehabilitation training, and cognitive rehabilitation multimodal intervention. Gait speed during the dual task motor-gait condition was significa...

The population was 4029 female students at Arak University in 2013 from which 380 subjects were selected randomly. The data was collected using the following questioners: Demographic Characteristics, International Physical Activity – Short Form(Ainsworth & et al, 2000), and Multi dimensional Social Support Scale (Zimet & et al, 1988). Results on regression analysis revealed while there was a significant positive relationship between two sources of social support (friends and others) with PA, the relationship between friend's social support and PA was greater (r=0.123, P≤0.05). According to the research findings, friend's social support was the only predictor of PA among female college students (P≤0.05) and justified 12% of variance in PA.

Materials and Methods: This study was conducted among 80 elderly aged more than 60 years old in Dehdasht city. The data were analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis with Prinicpal Component Analysis (PCA) and Varimax rotation, Spearman’s correlation coefficient, Cronbach’s Alpha, and U-ManWithney test. Findings: The results indicated that Persian version of DGI is a uni-dimensional construct with factor loading of 0.69. Our findings revealed that these eight items explains 86.26 % of variability in DGI and the Cronbach’s Alpha was 0.89. In addition, Inter-rater reliability shows that the correlation between two raters, was significant and high (p<0/0001, r=0.714). Likewise, the test-retest correlation, was significant and high (p<0.0001, r=0.8...

Assessment of falling-related factors, such as gait efficacy, is important. In this research, validity and reliability of Persian translation of "Modified Gait Efficacy Scale", was investigated in older adults.

Purpose of this research was to compare health-related quality of life and functional fitness of older adults with and without fear of falling and fall history. In this descriptive study 91 subjects at Arak city participated voluntarily. Variables measured with SF-36, Activities-specific Balance Confidence Scale, Senior Functional Fitness Battery, MMSE, and Fall frequency. Data analyzed with independent t-student and with SPSS software. The results indicated that about 32% and 27% of subjects had fear of falling and fall history, respectively. Mean scores of subjects in without fear of falling group than with fear of falling and subjects in without fall history group than with fall history group counterparts in quality of life and functional fitnesswas higher significantly (p≤ .05). Avoidance of daily living activities due to fear of falling or fall history may cause functional fitness decline and results in decline in older adults' quality of life and health.

The objective of this research was to examine the effect of an interventional training program on fall-related psychological factors among the elderly men in Arak. In this quasi experiment research on male older adults in Arak, 27 participants randomly assigned to Control group (mean age=70.21±6.65) and Experimental group (mean age=66.07±4.38). Experimental group members participated in a 12 week interventional training program. The findings showed that training intervention program improved fall-related psychological factors (Fall Self-Efficacy/Fear of Fall and Activities-specific Balance Confidence/Balance Self-Efficacy) in experimental group. No significant changes appeared in fall-related psychological factors in control group members who did not perform any regular training program. Conclusions According to the findings, regular interventional training program can decrease fear of fall and increase balance confidence in performing the activities of everyday life by improving physical and motor fitness levels . These improvements can lead to physical and psychological health, increase in quality of life among older adults, and eventually successful aging.

Materials & Methods This causal-compara ve research was conducted on 180 elderly subjects living in Arak (aged 60 and over). The subjects were selected randomly and criterion for their admission was confirma on of a G.P. The data were analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis, main component analysis with Varimax rota on tests, Spearman's correla on coefficient, Cronbach's Alpha, and U-Man-Withney. The results indicated that the Persian version of DGI among older adults consists of one factor. The specific value of the factor was 6.091 which predicted 76.133 percent of variance. Cronbach's Alpha was calculated 0.953. Reliability between the measurers showed a significantly high correla on between the two collected data sets which were collected by two different researchers. The test-retest reliability was also high and significant. Conclusion The research results showed that Persian version of the DGI among old men was acceptable and in accordance with its English version; therefore, it can be used in clinical and therapeu c se ngs to iden fy the elderly who are exposed to falling risk.

Statistics population was premier athletes of Arak's clubs in year 1392 from which 286 persons selected randomly. Data collected by demographic charachtristics and "Exercise Addiction Inventory-Short Form" questionnaire. After translation of the Inventory, content validity confirmed by 5 physical education experts, and final Persian version developed. Confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Choronbach's alpha used to analysis of data. Confirmatory factor analysis resulted in 2 factor extraction that explained 58% of variance. Factors 1 and 2 named "importance and salience of exercise role" and "psychological outcomes of exercise", respectively. Test-retest correlation 0.72 to 0.85, Choronbach's alpha 0.80 to 0.82, interclass reliability 0.85 and split-half reliability was 0.78. According these results, Persian tr...
