Dialogue[]

Pythias: Ah, you must be a friend of Phainon's. Welcome!
Pythias: Not the best timing, though. It's a busy season in the fields right now, and the school's on break. Otherwise, I'd have loved for you to tell the kids a bit about the outside world.
Icon Dialogue Talk I'm actually curious about that village school...
Pythias: Oh? Then let me give you a quick tour. I've divided all the village kids into three classes by age. Each group has different lessons and schedules.
Pythias: Then little ones learn arithmetic, geometry, and morals. The middle group studies geography and our prayer ceremonies. As for the oldest, they're free to explore what interests them. Teachers just guide them along the way.
Pythias: Sounds pretty relaxed, doesn't it? Just the basics. After all, once they grow a little older, they'll be helping their parents in the fields. So, no need for complicated knowledge.
Pythias: Still... I do hope that one day, they will step beyond the village and see the world for themselves.
Icon Dialogue Talk How are the kids doing lately?
Pythias: Same as always — turn your back, and they're climbing the curtains. Even the toys I've confiscated lately are way more creative than in Phainon's time.
Pythias: Can you believe it? Though it's just a rough shape, some kids can already carve little wooden horses by hand. Hah, maybe we have some future priests of Janus in the making!
Icon Dialogue Exit Let's catch up again when there's more time.
Pythias: Gladly! I'm sure the kids would love meeting someone with your experience and stories.

Phainon's Memory[]

Pythias: Phainon, you once said you wanted to leave Aedes Elysiae and explore the wider world. How's that going?
Icon Dialogue Arrow Everything's ready now.
Pythias: Good to hear. Life here is quiet, but out there... you'll need to stay sharp.
Icon Dialogue Arrow There are still a few things I haven't figured out...
Pythias: Hehe, ever since childhood, you've always had a careful mind — always planing [sic] ahead.
Pythias: But it's okay. Even if you decide to stay, I'll still support you. There's value in adventure, yes — but living a quiet, steady life is also a choice worth making.
Pythias: Just don't pressure yourself. Whatever you choose, as long as it's what your heart tells you... that's enough.
Pythias: As for the info of the Grove you asked me to look into, I've managed to dig up a few leads.
Pythias: Though I've never been there myself, they say the sages of its various schools are all brillant minds — learned, skilled, and deeply respected. Studying under one of them would surely take you far.
Icon Dialogue Arrow In that case... I've gotta see this myself.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Just wait till I come back a master!
Pythias: Hehe, that's the spirit. But... I've also heard the Grove of Epiphany places great value on open debate and independent thinking. The academic scene is extremely free — so much so that bizarre and radical theories pop up all the time.
Pythias: If you really plan to go, you'll need to keep your eyes sharp. Learn what you can, but don't lose your way.
Icon Dialogue Arrow I'll keep that in mind.
Pythias: Well, I've rambled enough — you must've had your fill. Off with you now.
