Inkscape 1.3 can not open PDF files it produced

Summary:

Inkscape 1.3 can not open PDF files it produced (with File->Save Copy). I can open the PDF without any problems. I choose "Internal import", all pages (there's only one BTW), Clip to: Media Box, Fonts: Substitute. After I select Save a Copy and select PDF, the produced file can't be opened the same way.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Either right click attached PDF and select Open with Inkscape or open Inkscape and import the PDF
  • Go to File->Save a Copy and select PDF and save the file with different name.
  • Try the same thing with new PDF

What happened?

Within GUI the Inkscape is silent. The PDF doesn't get imported. In console, there's following output:

(org.inkscape.Inkscape:52201): Pango-WARNING **: 10:16:11.536: Invalid UTF-8 string passed to pango_layout_set_text()

** (org.inkscape.Inkscape:52201): CRITICAL **: 10:16:13.230:
unhandled exception (type Glib::Error) in signal handler:
domain: g-regex-error-quark
code  : 3
what : Error while matching regular expression visibility\s*:\s*hidden;*: UTF-8 error: illegal byte (0xfe or 0xff)

What should have happened?

Inkscape should be able to open the file it produced
