Division on arcs deformed the arc significantly more than roughly equivalent cubic curve
This problem is very similar to issue #2440 (closed) reported about 5 months ago. That issue is resolved, but I'm getting a near identical result with a different shape.
- I made a quarter-ring, and attempted to use the Division tool on it.
- The curve becomes deformed whenever the Division creates new nodes.
Check the video to see it in detail:
The background is to improve visibility, and the outer ring shows the before / after difference more clearly. They're not joined to the inner curve in any way, and the problem happens without them present.
- As shown, the curve becomes deformed. This will happen any time new nodes are created.
- I've attached the test file, both before doing the operation, and then after making all the divisions. Note that here's already nodes at the 45deg division, and the curve stays in place there.
- I've tried this on other files, and the same thing occurs.
- I'm using dividing lines made with the clone tool, but it occurs with a line made using the Bezier tool as well.
