Extension Pattern along path with group of paths is tilted/distorted

Steps to reproduce:

• open Inkscape
• draw a line
• draw a path
• duplicate the path
• group the two paths
• use Extension "Pattern along Path ..." with the grouped paths and the line (settings: repeated, snake)

What happened?

If the grouped paths have absolute "Move To" commands, the pattern along the line is tilted.

If the grouped paths have relative "Move To" commands, the pattern along the line is completely distorted.

What should have happened?

The pattern should be properly aligned along the line. (As this still is the case tested with Inkscape 0.92.4 (5da689c313, 2019-01-14)).
