Wider Format Support for File Comparison #4

Feature description

VisualDiffer works very well for comparing a pair of files for their content, when the two files are in text format (.txt) or Word format (.docx). I would like to request expanding the file format support to include the OpenDocument Format, expectably the OpenDocument Text format (.odt). I understand that the MS format support is very simple/easy because of Apple's OS-level implementation through SDK. Adding other formats would require a lot more of your effort. Nevertheless, I would like to request ODF (especially ODT) support, if not now, then for the future. Unfortunately, I am not a programmer, but I imagine there must be some reusable resources (libraries?) available from some of many open-source projects that support ODF, perhaps even within the Open Document Foundation's LibreOffice project? I am hoping that you will not have to do everything from scratch...

I imagine some people would find it very helpful if in the future the file support could include other formats as well, like CSV and spreadsheet formats (.ods and .xlsx).

Why is this useful?

Expanded file format support will increase the usefulness of the file comparison feature of VisualDiffer.
