Bitbucket pipelines isn't as expressive in its config than GitHub so some of these considerations might not apply. Potentially an "install-uv"/action/step etc. hosted in an external repo would be cleaner. Same for a "setup python" style venv-activation step etc. Maybe these already exist, should research
