Brand new here and am trying to learn my way.

Using Transmission 4.0.6 with macOS Sonoma 14.8.2 and PIA 3.6.1, Sonic ISP

Recently, it appears opening Transmission causes me to be disconnected from the Internet. This is independent of PIA being connected, disconnected, or quit. it's days without being disconnected. But it's only a few minutes after launching Transmission until I'm disconnected. Power cycling the modem (not the router) gets me back online.

Are there any other complaints of this behavior? Related known issues? If I toss the application, can I reinstall 4.0.6 without loosing my torrents? Is it possible for an ISP to detect Transmission and cause the disconnect.

Am I in the right place to be asking these questions?

UPDATE: This is a Transmission vs Private Internet Access issue.

After spending some time trying to figure out what's what, I believe it'w some conflict between the two. I can run PIA all day with no issues. Or I can run Transmission all day (though I'd rather not). Opening one when the other is running affects a slowdown of traffic until I'm disconnected. It's starts in just a few minutes after one of the two are opened, and boots me within 5-10 minutes. Once one is opened in the presence of the other, up time is limited.

With my limited troubleshooting skills I've found reinstalling both didn't solve anything.
