Bug Description

If you try to bold a piece of text using the keyboard shortcut (cmd+B or ctrl+B) the text will flicker bold for a second then revert.

Also, if you attempt to copy and paste an image into the markdown editor, nothing happens

Steps to Reproduce

1. Try bolding a piece of text using keyboard shortcut
2. Try copy and pasting an image into the editor

Expected Behavior

1. Text remains bolded
2. Images show up in the spot you pasted in.
