Notice: Strapi 4 bug support coverage is ending soon has ended

Per our security policy Strapi 4 will be ending it's support coverage at the end of October 2025 and will move into a 6 month security only maintenance period.

Security fixes will be provided until the end of April 2026, at which point Strapi 4 will be considered EOL (End-Of-Life).

What does this mean for you?

• At the end of October 2025, no new bug fix related releases will be made to Strapi 4; including critical fixes
• Only Security releases will be made until April 2026
• After April 2026 no new releases will be made for Strapi 4

What does this mean for Strapi?

• After October 2025, all bug reports must be submitted only for Strapi 5+
• Any bug report opened for Strapi 4 will be immediately and automatically closed

How do I upgrade?

• Note: you should be on the latest version of Strapi 4 BEFORE you upgrade to Strapi 5

How often will this happen?

• We have committed to providing 12 months of bug fix support and 18 months of security fixes after a new major version is released. October 2025 will be 13 months of bug fixes and April 2026 will be 19 months of security fixes.
• At this time we do not have any confirmed plans for Strapi 6 yet as Strapi 5 is by far meeting our needs
• We only begin work on a new major when we see a strong need for breaking changes that cannot be made within a major version's lifespan.
