import dBase files #4175

Just the raw file, or do you still have dBase?
I seem to recall VB6 with its jet4 database engine could open dBase files, as it was its competitor at the time.
There are a few dBase viewers out there. If you can somehow export to CSV, you should be able to import it back in.
Is there only a small number of records, or are you talking millions? three tables or thousands?

Have the original dBase.
The largest database has approx. 50000 data sets and then many small approx. 180 pieces and of course the many queries with the reports.

While you can import the data, don't forget sqlite has no concept of 'reports'. You can have views however.
Whats your goal of importing? Creating an application around the data, or just to view the data? Again, if you just want to view the data, there are dBase viewers already.
Just to confirm - DB4S can't natively import dBase files, but if you export to a common format, eg, CSV, then you should be able to import.

Just did a cursory search, and that returned this

The dbf to sqlite option looks like a good start.

Get dpf-to-sqlite not installed, and the DBConvert software runs only under Windows + Costs Money.

Its a python script, so you install it. Are you saying you can't install it or don't want to install it?

You should follow what the message tells you, id est move a directory, then run

1. python3 -m venv venv
2. source venv/bin/activate
3. pip install dbf-to-sqlite
4. Do your conversions.
5. deactivate
6. rm -rf venv

Also try to install NocoDB with Podman + SQLite in parallel. No success until now.

Versuch auch parallel NocoDB mit Podman + SQLite zu installiern. Bis jetzt kein Erfolg.
