Since 2020, I develop and maintain jaq, a clone of the popular jq tool with a focus on correctness, performance, and simplicity. This work has been sponsored twice with an NLnet grant.
After the end of my current grant, I plan to continue developing jaq in proportion to the financial support of the community. That is, the more you support me, the more I will be able to advance jaq.
Without financial support, I do not plan to develop new features, only maintain existing functionality as well as steward & integrate external contributions.
So far, I have tried to consider individual requests for new features from the community wherever possible. The most gratifying moments for me were when I implemented a user's idea that made jaq better for everyone. If you have a particular wish for the development of jaq that aligns well with my goals for jaq, then your sponsorship might be a way for me to implement your idea. Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you wish to discuss beforehand.
Even if you do not have special requests for the development of jaq, I appreciate your financial support if you have profited from using jaq. This will help me to maintain jaq in the long term.
