Hi, I'm Sornapudi Suresh

An Engineering leader specializing in modernizing complex software platforms, scaling distributed systems, and improving reliability and engineering efficiency across cloud-native SaaS, billing and payment platforms.

My strongest area is taking complex or legacy software environments and turning them into scalable, cloud-native platforms that are easier to operate, evolve and grow.

Over the years, I’ve led modernization initiatives involving monolith decomposition, microservices, distributed systems, API and event-driven architectures, cloud migration, platform reliability and engineering automation.

I enjoy working at the intersection of architecture, engineering execution and business outcomes - particularly where the systems are complex, highly integrated and operationally critical.

Some of the areas I bring deep hands-on leadership experience in: • Application & Platform Modernization - modernizing legacy applications, reducing technical debt and evolving monolithic systems toward modular, cloud-native architectures.

• Distributed Systems & Microservices - designing and scaling Java/Spring Boot services, APIs, event-driven workflows and multi-tenant SaaS platforms.

• Billing, Invoicing & Payments - building complex billing and payment workflows, integrations and settlement processes with a strong focus on correctness, idempotency, reliability and automation.

• SRE & Engineering Reliability - improving availability, observability, incident response, operational readiness, automation and engineering practices around production systems.

• Cloud & Engineering Efficiency - Multi cloud Azure/AWS/Kubernetes modernization, architecture optimization, resource right-sizing and engineering cost optimization.

• Engineering Leadership - building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, coaching engineers and leaders, establishing engineering standards, improving delivery predictability and partnering closely with Product, Architecture and business stakeholders.

I also actively use AI-assisted engineering tools and explore AI-native approaches to software development, automation and developer productivity. I see AI as an accelerator for strong engineering fundamentals - not a replacement for architecture, reliability, product thinking and sound engineering judgment.
