The [`markdownj`](https://github.com/myabc/markdownj) project doesn't seem to be maintained very actively anymore. How about changing this plugin to use a different parser? See [this SO post](https://stackoverflow.com/a/27503037/1919049) for some alternatives. While [`pegdown`](https://github.com/sirthias/pegdown) is deprecated, [`flexmark-java`](https://github.com/vsch/flexmark-java) seems to be a very good option.
