The word "line" is probably more appropriate than "row" in the context of the code reading exercise. Both "line of code" and "line of text" are standard terms, whereas "row of text" (or "row of code") is much more rare [1]. I've mostly seen it used in highly specific contexts such as when discussing how a single "logical line" is spread over multiple "rows" in a terminal window.
