- make it more like a functional operator, since that is a necessary implementation in edge cases where we can't mutate our input buffer because someone else is going to read it - TODO; then, make the scheduler look for opportunities to apply its inplacing logic to reuse input buf when possible ghstack-source-id: 1184bfd Pull Request resolved: #92735
