The TP-Link HS220 Smart Wi-Fi Dimmer Switch supports brightness control at the device/firmware level (works correctly in the Kasa app, Alexa, Google Home), but in Home Assistant it is exposed only as a basic on/off light.

The integration does not currently expose:

brightness attribute

brightness slider in the UI

reliable light.turn_on(brightness=…) support

This limits the HS220 to on/off behavior despite being a dimmer.
